TBH, 37/40 isn't that good of a score for Famitsu. FF13-2 scored a perfect 40, and while I love that game, I don't think it's a perfect game.
I can agree with the "ONE of the greatest horror games of all time". It's fresh enough within it's own genre. When I played Heavy Rain all I could think about was how a horror game would fare in that same style of gameplay, then eventually Until Dawn happened and it did not disappoint.
There are a few aspects that I think could be improved: the game is too much centered in a few characters, and it'd be nice if there were alternatives to them, like, say...
The original is okay-ish. The atmosphere is pretty good, the story and voice acting is all over the place, though. Gameplay is decent. I can see this one surpassing the original.
I feel like 13-2 is better than the original, though the original is a bit more cohesive. You have more to do, Serah is more charismatic than Lightning (less serious, more caring), Caius is a great villain and the monster catching is actually pretty addictive (and I love the battle system).
A bit ironic given what they are doing to a social media user, no?
Bethesda is not some indie company that is biting more than they can chew. They were fully aware that this project was being rushed, was cheap and also the lies that were being spilled in order to drive those initial sales. They probably wanted a quick buck and F76 is what they came up with. It wasn't a sad case of megalomaniacal ideas like NMS nor was it a case of people actually believing they had a good game when it was actually terrible, like FFXIV. This was a case of feeding the publ...
Yep. 2nd one was good too, IMO. The others... Not so much.
You beat me to it. Damn you
Alan Wake has a memorable cast and setting?
This is digital and info age. Leaks will happen, if not today, tomorrow, if not by one of your employees, maybe by hackers, maybe someone will mess up, maybe someone speaks too much at a bar, shit happens. Companies should adapt. Counter by maybe feeding false info, addressing the issue publicly, looking what can be done in-house to avoid more leaks (be sure, they will happen anyway), hell, even ignoring it altogether and/or adapting marketing campaigns would be more reasonable than attacking...
Since Colonial Marines and Battleborn I don't really trust this dev. It's a "wait and see" case with them.
Her face is kind of weird.
Then why even put Zack in the list? He is not usable in battle at all. If we are countin' spin-offs, Vincent would probably be first.
Even if you can't do an actual Silent Hill 'cuz Konami, why not work on a spritual succesor?
Some of you Americans are so obsessed with race and gender that you literally ignore anything else when electing a President. It's literally down to how he/she view gays, women and blacks. So weird.
This is an accurate description of most FPS post-Half-Life, TBF.
Well... It's kinda the same with Shepard from Mass Effect. Everyone has their own, but they feature him/her heavily instead of other characters.
And some people consider "bad movies" good and some "good movies" bad, what's your point?
He is pushing games to be more like interactive movies, though. Not anything else. Which is arguably what a lot of other devs are doing, albeit in their own way. And... Movies are also fiction and entertainment at the end of the day. You want something more serious, change to the news.
Everything else you said is pretty subjective, so I'll give you that.
@King_Noctis I have to play and like the game. I don't think the OP saw FF13-2's perfect score back in the day and said: OMG, I should go out and buy myself a PS3 for it. And I doubt that you would call it a perfect game either, to which I would reply: "but it has a perfect score, what does it need to be perfect for you?".
All I'm saying is that Famitsu is not that trustworthy. Case in point, Nintendogs also has a pefect score and Demon's Souls was...
