This is a bit curious. I have gay friends that rather play as the hottest/most appealing guy/girl to them in the game rather than the opposite sex (as mostly would assume for one reason or another). So I guess it's true for straight guys as well: many do choose females just for the eye candy. Sometimes this doesn't even factor in: depending on the game, a custom female/male character can serve better the story or in a fighting game a male/female character can have movesets that better...
Buy it on PC if you can. I bet the modders will elevate this game to Ultimate status fixing the backgrounds as well as touching up the characters' models to better reflect the original game.
@harmny I don't do "life" with a controller in my hand nor through a screen. I specially don't live in a futuristic cyberpunk city. Get a grip.
I was perfectly immersed in Alien Isolation knowing that I was playing as Amanda and actually seeing her face in the cutscenes. Immersion is not exactly "see what the character is seeing" and "being the character", but being engrossed on what is going on and empathetic to the character's struggles.
This decision makes the customization entirely pointless, might as well remove it and save some memory by ditching reflections altogether from the game. W...
I tend to give it a go eventually, but I'm a sucker for dark mysteries and weird science such as Fringe, X-Files and Annihilation. Control is a no brainer for me right now. (:

TBF, I dont think REAL men are supposed to be monogamous. It's unnatural. This is a societal construct to basically castrate us and impede the Alpha male to dominate over the Beta ones. That's why I rather be single.
I've been saying this for years: "Chloe and Max" is an incredibly toxic relationship. I really cannot see how anyone can go the romantic route with that game and think that it's healthy or a good choice for the main character rather than to see two digital girls kissing. Chloe doesn't even let Max answer a call from a distressed friend without bitching about it. If Chloe were male, I could already see the headlines...

"Something" doesn't mean "everything". I mean, you are already pretty uncomfortable just by the word "inclusion". So they are actually playing it like they said: they don't care to offend people, including yourself. That doesn't mean you won't find something you can relate and feel comfortable with in the game.

Didn't his actor leave Uncharted 3 mid-production for another gig and had the team rewrite a lot of the game? I guess this would be reason enough.
