FF8 is the one that truly needs a Remake. I mean, the story makes sense at face value, but the more you think about it, the more the cracks starts to show. Plus, I love the side characters, and they get all but tossed aside in favor of Rinoa by disk 3, which, TBH, is not that interesting.
Leaving aside any personal opinion I may have on Epic Store as a whole, I don't really think it was a mistake. The sales are good and I'm pretty sure the exclusivity deal granted Gearbox some cash on the side. Plus, they will most likely eventually release it on other platforms/launchers in the future. Unless it's first party or some random biased decision, exclusives are becoming a thing of the past.

Sorry, but is two weeks really considered a short window in the US? I'm asking because in my country you have basically one week for online purchases and three days for physical ones. Other than that, it's up to the store to decide to help you or not (unless it's a warrant issue).
They already stated it's a timed exclusivity, although no plans for other platforms (obviously). Either way, if you REALLY want to play it, just buy a Switch. They even have a cheap one now.
