I played the demo on widescreen HDTV (360) at 1080i. It was the most beautiful game I've seen. Some guy posts a photoshopped pic claiming widescreen issues, and we just believe him?
It's not a bad thing, but Sony fell asleep and hasn't awoken, yet. So they set a tight deadline for their 1st and 2nd party developers. It's obvious that Factor 5 was pushed hard, so they had to take shortcuts to get it out the door. They literaly used the Rogue Squadron engine and replaced x-wing fighters with dragons.
I tried it on my PC, but it wasn't very practical. I forget the problem, but it seemed like a chore to keep running.
"Trolling" the PS3 section? The news is posted on the top page. But I agree with the fact that hyped games can be letdowns. But the PS3 really needs good games, desperately.
Some guy in a forum called "michaelbay" says something quite strange, and we just believe that it is the real director? Why would he care about the format war? If he's so disappointed, why did he put the movie on DVD?
Sound is always an issue in PC games. There's electronic "noise" since the card is surrounded by moving electrons. Then there's bugs that either cause the game to crash, sound to disappear, etc. You may have to use software sound or reduce the quality some other way.
I played the demo on HDTV at 1080i and had no problems.
I don't like tattoos on women. She also doesn't have the "assets" that Lara has.
Denis is comparing it to cell phone technology and VCRs. So, it won't be a single company controlling and profiting from a console. It will be many companies making their own consoles to a single specification. This reminds me of IBM PC "compatible" computers.
There was a day when IBM was the sole manufacturer of PCs. There were many "brands" of computers, such as Tandy, Texas Instruments, and Apple. They all competed for market dominance. Guess who won the ...
The Bioshock demo was amazing, but I still wait for the game to come out before I form an opinion. You don't know what will happen outside of the demo.
MS paid money for exclusivity. Many journalists have said that they think it's coming to PS3, but there has been no announcement. In fact, the only announcement is that it is 360 exclusive. http://www.1up.com/do/newsS...
We are simply questioning why everybody else gave it 9.5 or 10 and GS gave it 9. We're just scratching our heads. None of us have played it, yet. Jeff said that there were significant freezing issues and no other reviewer made that claim.
Jeff at Gamespot also reviewed Zelda TP and gave it an 8.8. What did you think of that?
Those that are saying Bioshock is over-hyped have not played the game! If you look at the score list a few posts below, you will see a unanimous score of 10 from 9 reviewers. 10s are very hard to come by.
It is getting "perfect score after perfect score". Did you see Gamerankings.com? There are at least 5 perfect scores. No game gets 100% from every reviewer. Jeff's issue was with the freezing at times. I hope this was a fluke for him.
...it really does matter. The systems are different enough as are the games.
Yes, all consoles can get a virus because they are computers. But, we should wait until it happens since the odds are next to zero.
The most common way of getting a PC virus is by opening an e-mail attachment. Since consoles are closed systems, executing code is extremely difficult.
...then just get a 360 since you save $250.
The deal was good, so I bought the HD-DVD add-on. I felt that Blu-Ray was winning, but I bought it anyway. So this works for me. :)
All communication on Live is highly structured. How do you write code for a friend's request? It's only text. The only other data that is allowed is a picture taken with the vision camera (in messages).
The only thing Japan is good at is art and character design. I think the real problem is that the developers are complacent. With the exception of a few devleopers like Team Ninja and Capcom, Japan is stagnant. Random battles, fixed cameras, and turn-based combat have been around way too long.
