Sony needed some exclusive titles, so they set hard dates on Warhawk, Lair, and Heavenly Sword. This is the reality, and the result is evident. At least Sony has a few decent cutscenes to show-off at Walmart kiosks.
This technology won't be developed for another 50 years, if ever.
I am really enjoying Bioshock, but it has horror elements which I don't like. I prefer more cheerful environments. I would still score it higher than 8, but Bioshock isn't for everyone. (I am about 33% thru Bioshock, so I can't score it now).
I don't want a remake of FFVII. Remember the Resident Evil and Metal Gear remakes on Gamecube? The graphics upgrade didn't do enough to make the game feel new. It was still RE and MGS.
Let SquareEnix focus on new games, please.
It's always short. I would like to see a full review, too.
I'm glad to hear that it's being polished. I hope it is silky smooth when it's released.
I wonder how Forge will play? It sort of reminds me of an RTS in that you are able to drop new stuff on the map. But this is an a smaller scale, so I'm curious to see how it plays.
"GameStop has to be loving the Wii. The top selling video games during the quarter were GUITAR HERO II from Activision, NCAA FOOTBALL '08 by Electronic Arts, MARIO PARTY 8 by Nintendo, Nintendo's POKEMON DIAMOND and PEARL, and FORZA MOTORSPORT 2 from Microsoft."
I only see 1 Wii title in there.
The real deal buster here is the length. He said 3 hours of actual combat in a game that takes 7 hours to finish.
I've got to say that Itagaki was right. He doesn't speak rashly as he is careful with his words.
30 FPS works fine. I wish all games had 60 FPS, but they don't.
Those bosses look impressive.
That still doesn't demonstrate that the PS3 is more powerful.
I agree. The main argument about poor PS3 versions is that they were designed on 360 and then ported to PS3. That argument doesn't hold water here. Although PS3 owners won't admit that it is less powerful, the time will come when they throw in the towel.
The 360 controller is the best one ever made. So, they should be able to do something to make it feel better. It seems like it should be no different then the PS3 situation. (Or, it could be that the previewer needed to say something negative about the 360 version, so he nit-picked.)
I thought that the problem was making games on 360 and then porting it to PS3? It looks like that isn't the issue. The fact that they say it looks "marginally" better on 360 shows that the 360 is the more powerful console. Time and time again, the 360 proves this to be true.
Honestly, how creative did that look? Jumping over geometric holes isn't good game design.
You mean if you zoom out? There's tesselation which reduces polygons and texture resolution. So that isn't totally true. For example, if you were to zoom out until the map became a dot on the screen, the frame-rate would rise, not fall.
The key is the native resolution of 1280x720. If you read the article, she states that the game plays at a native 1280x720.
The art design is for pre-schoolers. The gameplay is old-school platforming at it's worst. It looks frustrating. It also looks identical to Super Mario Sunshine. What happened to the globes?
He started as a cell, swam around eating things and then earned enough points to modify his creature. He then took his creature for a walk. The end. This doesn't sound fun.
...you will be letdown. Everything about 2 Worlds looks uninspired.
