I've been saying that the FOV is meaningless as long as widescreen users get native 720p! We get 1280x720p which is about 1 million pixels. This is 3 times more than 4:3 SD.
Quote from article:
"When playing in widescreen modes the game makes use of the full screen resolution, and does not crop or stretch a lower resolution image into a wide screen one. For example, at 720p the game renders natively to the full 1280x720 resolution"
How do these no-name reviewers get a copy of the game? They either made up the review or Sony gave them a copy knowing that they would favor the game. I'm NOT saying Sony "paid them off", just that they have a record of scoring games high.
...& gives...Promises! We have a ton of wondeful promises that exceed our imagination! For $600, you get more promises than you can count!
You can make your games, here. We'll buy and play them!
We wouldn't be debating this, now. Only a few hardcore Nintendo fans defend the Wii's poor graphics.
Some random guy plays the demo and trashes the whole game. I don't care about anyone elses opinion, but my own. A reviewer is supposed to tell me if I will like the game.
The military obviously favors the Xbox 360 for many reasons. It's not surprising to see the 360 get exclusive content for AA.
Home won't be a Live killer. Home is a free game by Sony. He was unprofessional, as are most gaming journalists (I wonder if some of them bathe). But, he has made a valid point.
How do you turn or strafe or walk forward or shoot? The answer...very awkwardly.
The only confirmation we have is from Irrational (now 2K boston). They say explicitly that it is 360/PC exclusive. See my link at my earlier post above.
This is useless information. I like the link to the hot titles!
I can't wait to play it tonight. In about 2 hours, I will pop it in the 360!
The title is bogus. There isn't a single quote from Steven Spielberg, only his "spokesman". And there was nothing about him being "annoyed".
Also, when you post news, you are not allowed to change the headline!
The article's headline is, "Spielberg Feeling Blu Too".
Stranglehold has a poor frame-rate and some ugly textures. The models look mediocre, too. It's not a bad game, but I'm sick of games being pushed out the door before they're finished.
That's a good catch. Unreal Engine 3 is multi-platform and so it makes sense that it would have some PS3 code.
As of June 23, 2007, Bioshock is an Xbox 360 exclusive accoring to senior designer Joe McDonagh of Irrational (now 2k Boston)

Reviews matter. I bought Bullet Witch, Phantasy Star Universe, and some other poorly reviewed games. But, the reviews were relatively accurate. BW is about a 5 and PSU is about a 7, but I wish I could say they were 10s. I liked these games, but they suffered from technical issues, average graphics, etc.
When a game like Bioshock gets 10s from many reviewers, you have to pay attention. It should at least drive you to try the game, even if you weren't interested in it before.
I assume you don't have a 360. Go buy one! You have PS3 and Wii, why not the 360?
The HD-DVD group wants support, and there's nothing wrong with spending money to get it. Do you think Sony didn't spend money to get Blockbuster's support? Do you think Blockbuster chose Blu-Ray because it holds more data? No way. There was a financial interest of some kind for Blockbuster.
The last widescreen shot at the bottom shows a widescreen window within another widescreen window. The issue is a widescreen window with a normal format (thus chopping off the top & bottom).
My only concern is the resolution. Am I getting 1280x720 calculated pixels, or am I getting something less? The format issue could be completely legit if I'm getting the proper resolution.
Like I said before, the demo looked amazing on my widescreen HDTV. I never noticed ...
"Obviously we need to give as many people as possible access to our game. However, this is an Xbox 360 exclusive and it's coming out on PC. That's the way it is on Bioshock" senior designer Joe McDonagh told CVG. (June 23, 2007)
