Especially Capcom. They have the franchises and the know how and they just let it die with the Dreamcast (well they made a PSP port of Powerstone but a party game on a handheld?). They never even gave it a chance on a different system. I can't believe the fun me and my friends would have if Capcom made a 6 player Powerstone 3 for the PS3. Oh yeah other Capcom characters in the game would be awesome too.
PSP has been dominating Japan since the redesign last year in July. Sony's sold over 4 million units in 11 months. As for the PS3 just like the article states this is the biggest opening week for any PS3 game in Japan more then doubling the first week sales of DMC 4 which sold about 206k copies. A big boost in hardware isn't unexpected.
What I find strange is that three out of the four 8's that MGS4 received were from UK magazines Eurogamer, Edge and Games(TM). The fourth 8 being from Gamedaily. That is quite a coincidence. Maybe there is a bias there. I don't know what their reasoning could be but it doesn't seem right. 75% of the lowest scores coming from one small region is definitely fishy.

Metal Gear was never billed as a FPS. Its billed as a stealth action game. Yet this idiot is comparing it to first person shooters. Heck, "Tactical Espionage Action" is underneath the title of the game on the box. Compared to 9.25 million last fiscal year. We all know how slow last fiscal year started for them. So either Sony is being ridiculously conservative or they will not drop the price this year. You may see a Holiday bundle packing in a game or two and a blu-ray movie but I think thats about it. They also stated in the same report that they expect to turn a profit on the PS3 business later this year. I don't believe a price cut is inducive to that goal.

Thats one of the big reasons for the spike. This special is probably funded in part by the Blu-ray Disc Association. Although Sony is a big part of the BDA they don't have total control. No guarantee that such a special will happen again as an incentive to consumers.
Damn you should change your tag to Voice of Stupidity. Hard to believe anyone would sell their PS3 for more Wii games. All the good non-Nintendo released games drop to $20 or $30 dollars after a month or two anyway because no one buys them.
They should of had tons of these bundles ready. I mean they stopped suppling 80gb units 4 months ago. Their stockpile should of been huge. They should of had 500k of these units ready to just drop a MGS4 game inside each one as soon as they went gold with the game.

You can catch Naruto on Cartoon network. But once you watch the English dub you will appreciate the fact that your friend bothered to send you the sub.
