studios like Sony Bend, Ready at Dawn, Media Molecule and Sucker Punch were all small studios. they then all proved their talent with smaller games on PSP/PS3 so now Sony is bank-rolling them this gen with especially due to the ease of PS4 development. those kinds of risks couldn't be taken on PS3. Media Molecule's new game will be a lot more ambitious than LittleBigPlanet & Tearaway, Bend...

not all people are as rich as you and can buy next gen machines day one. so when studios announce games for PS3/360 it benefits the majority of console gamers. most gamers are still on PS3/360
I personally am waiting for a solid release date on Final Fantasy XV before I can commit to next-gen. in my country PS4 costs about $800 so cross-gen titles are much appreciated.
