You should watch Xigamteks other videos. They are all over the top. That's the point of mods.. why play just the vanilla game when you can have so much more? Beauty of PC.
No.. they don't. They have a set benchmark suite that they use for every card. Usually it's always everything set to as high as it would go, 4xMSAA/8xMSAA 16xAF and at various resolutions but usually at 1920x1080 and up to 2560x1600. I've never seen a benchmark where they use default settings. Never.
But I agree that the benches will be biased.

lol Just one bad driver? How about dating back to 3xxx series. My first ATI card was a 3850, I always had problems with drivers. I switched over to nVidia's 8800GT and never looked back. Hardware can only go so far, it's the software and support that makes it last in the long run. Thankfully nVidia are good at that stuff while AMD is always behing. I pre-ordered 2 years ago. This game is one of the best looking indie games if not thee best. The lighting is amazing and reminds me of Doom 3. Great stuff, Unknown Worlds released a little sandbox a while back too so modders can dip their toes in for a test.
Sweet, nVidia once had the crown for dual GPU as well with the 295. 580 SLI scaling is superb so a dual GF110 card will be a monster.

Community made content is a big part of PC gaming. Mods will keep a game up and running long after the console versions are dead and forgotten. Did you know that people are still making mods for Half Life 2? Yeah bet you didn't.. PC games have this thing called replayability which console games sorely lack. It's great playing new games, but it feels even greater to go back to an old game and spice it up...
