...when you call someone a retard. GRAW was released about 8 MONTHS before GOW. :o
If this bogus BS gets approved, the admins may as well concede that they're indeed retarded and inept. NOWHERE in that short piece, does it say what what was posted in the title ; they only said "cooler"....which really doesn't make any sense either. What the hell kind of comparison are they trying to make, comparing online beta footage of a FPS, to a virtual meeting place??
Of course, it's very obvious the story submitter is lacking intelligence, since they don't ...
Things like HDR (High Dynamic Range) lighting, reflections, and texture resolution are often scaled back, or dropped altogether, to allow for a smoother online experience. But animations and physics are something that should be consistent, whether online, or offline.
...where I said not to bother with that excuse. Trust me... we won't see any major improvements between now and release. If they're not implementing physics and animations at this point, then that means they won't be in the game. Things like lighting and texture details may be missing from Beta, but not key components that can really impact gameplay. Otherwise, what's the point of doing a Beta-test, if it's nowhere near what they'll be putting on the shelves?
Think about it...THIS IS HALO!! This game is THE flagship title for the 360, even above Gears. MS is banking on this game for the Holidays, and being responsible for selling a few million 360's. As great as Gears looked....and sold... MS will get SLAMMED by the media, if this game turns out to be anything but the best-looking next-gen shooter EVER. That this game will not look as good as, or even sport the realistic physics of games that released long before it, is pathetic.
...
...as my new PC will be arriving next week. :)
As for the improved online lobby, I really can't imagine they aren't going to update the 360 version via LIVE, as well as that game has done for them. There are just a few niggling issues that keep this game from being legendary.
...is up with that Goblin?!? 0_o
Most people know all of that....which is why this argument persists. The thing is, Polyphony Digital has always called their GT games "the ultimate racing sim"...yet THEY AREN'T A TRUE SIMULATION AT ALL. Without ANY damage, you simply can't have a REAL RACING EXPERIENCE. The creators of TOCA, Forza, NFS, etc. understand this ; they sacrifice quantity (having every car mfr. known to man, with most of their models, like GT), for quality, and realism. If a mfr. won't allow damage,...
Damn, this is getting annoying.
And can someone PLEASE explain to me, why I have to click on "edit" TWICE, to be able to edit a post? The first time simple refreshes the freaking page!
Only Forza 2 has full damage modeling (GTHD has ZERO damage modeling).
The entire GT series is a joke....only diehard Sony fanatics don't understand that. "The ultimate racing sim" my ass. :o
the "report" system for N4G is a complete failure.
MANY people reported this as "lame", and mostly for the same exact reason. That this made it to the front page, only proves just how screwed up this site and it's admins really are. Pathetic.
...I've been doing limitless chatting with people all over the world, via LIVE. Yes, you pay $50/yr., but that's primarily for gaming/demos/downloads/etc. Name another phone company that gives you unlimited long distance, worldwide, for $50/yr....and also provides what LIVE does for gaming.
This JAJAH is nothing new, and certainly not limited to the PS3. People have been utilizing their PCs for years to make free phone calls; it's how the whole VOIP movement was started.
With so many games coming out between August and December, this summer was the only chance Two Worlds had at getting noticed. This delay will only serve to doom it to failure on the 360, as nobody will care about it by the time it finally releases.
" That said, many developers have taken advantage of the hard drive anyway since many more people have purchased the premium SKU over the core version."
MS didn't/couldn't do anything about the devs that went ahead and dev'd their game based off the Premium 360. Fact is, if more devs had simply done this, MS would've have dropped the Core over a year ago, and this would no longer be an issue.
Plain and simple, only a small % of people bought the "Tard&quo...
This is really bizarre, that 2 websites (N4G and PSU) are trying to take credit for a supposed sudden interest in a game many PC/360 owners have been excited about for about 1-1/2 years now. I've visited that very website once a week, for well over a year now....and always leave it disappointed. Only ONE of the "new" screens are even new. Little has been shown about this game, but we do at least know that they've only announced the PC and 360 so far as development platforms. ...
...and this is one of those times. Reviewers are people, and people have differing opinions. At the end of the day, the gamer's opinion is what really matters ; if it sells and makes a nice profit, that's all that should matter.
Fact is, gamers and reviewers (who are also gamers) alike will tend to expect more from the PS3....even the budget titles....because Sony pushed the "superior" CELL down everyone's throats for so long. This is a game that does NOTHING NEW, and cer...
...but if it is, it would be HUGE. How many more ways can Sony continue to sh*t on the U.K., and they remain "loyal" ?
...ya THINK? File this one under N, for "NO DUH!"
...that's always just been a lame cop-out by Polyphony Digital.
Other games have had destructible real-world car models before: Toca 1, 2 & 3, NFS: Porshe Unleashed, Midtown Madness, Forza 1 all did. That was just a piss-poor excuse for lazy programming, and a very weak processor in the PS2. Basically, they included every car mfr. know to man in their games, so that all it took was 1 mfr. saying "no, you can't show our cars damaged", and there was their out. ...
"since the FIRST (meaning 'GRAW 1', not 2) was launched early into the 360's life-cycle (which OBVIOUSLY, GRAW 2 was NOT)".
How someone could read what 'kewlkat' posted, and NOT understand he was talking about the original launch title, GRAW, is truly dumbfounding. You've managed to exhibit a new level of stupidity, not formerly known to exist. :o
