Metro 2033 on PC looks better than Crysis in many cases.
But you're right, not a lot of PC games lately have been pushing the system. That's not a testament to the power of consoles, it's just that developers aren't putting the effort in to push the PC's hardware.
DICE are doing the right thing, developing Battlefield 3 with the PC as the main platform.
The game went through multiple engines, so it is showing it's age even before release.
I'm not expecting it to be the greatest game in the world. I will appreciate it for what is it, the return of the King.

This is a bittersweet feeling for me. On one hand, Jack Wall did an incredible job with ME 1 and 2. They're two of my favourite soundtracks from this gen, so it kind of sucks that he won't be completing the trilogy.
On the other hand, Mansell has done amazingly brilliant works in the past (Moon, The Fountain, Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan, etc), and his powerful talent will definitely work well with ME 3's themes.
This isn't just any military shooter this year, it is THE military shooter.
