Absolutely! It is an amazing world to play in. I think this is a perfect idea and think many, many devs need to understand this. Oh, and they use cloud based computing to use kids test scores, class preferences, and abilities to make money by selling the info to 3rd parties.

I have been thinking about this too and I think the time is right. I wouldn't mind having them go back and look, really look at what made the NES and SNES such incredible platforms. I think they need to bring back the Nintendo Seal of Quality and have it really, really mean what it used to mean: a quality game.
If they begin developing now, their system can come out in the midst of the next gen. That will give it a standalone advantage as most people adopt the X1 or PS...
