As tempting as it might be to buy one off of EBay if you get shut out at a retailer DON'T DO IT! Part of the reason you can't get one at a retailer is because of Ebay opportunists. I was actually tempted to do this once with PSVR when I secured two pre-orders. But my conscience was smart enough to dissuade me from doing it. Just hold out for another month or so and save yourself $500.

With MS having the marketing deal with Ubi for Valhalla (never makes sense to me why Ubi always does this with MS when their games have always sold better on PS4) I'm pretty sure this was one thing they, Ubisoft, couldn't just come out and say about the PS5 version. It's funny that after the pre-orders have gone live for Xbox this info finally comes out. And, it seems like it will have even more features than the Xbox version due to the Tempest Engine and DualSense. I hope Ubi ...

No, we don't want this to continue. My fear is that it will not be Sony that responds but Microsoft who continues doing this just because their pockets are so deep. Remember the rumors about Warner Brothers Interactive. Who says MS is still not pursuing them? I think if they ever land WB too Sony would be forced to react and then we really have a mess.
They could probably acquire both for less than MS paid for Zenimax and do much more with them, quality wise, then MS will do with Zenimax studios.
Said no one ever. Why in Helheim would you want to wait any longer? If there is one studio I have absolute faith in it is Santa Monica Studios. They have never released a broken game or a game that really needed a few extra months of polish. I honestly expect it to slip to spring 2022 but if Santa Monica and Cory Barlog know the game is ready that is when it is ready. I don't think Fuzzybacon understood what you meant. I do though. I have like 400 plus purchases on PSN and have been an active member since the whole thing started. And I didn't get an invite either. Kind of makes you wonder how they chose who got the invite to preorder or was it just completely random.

I am happy I got a preorder at all. Got one at Target on day 2 of the preorder fiasco after I had pretty much given up hope of getting one on or near launch day. Target was very explicit that I would receive the shipment between Nov 13 - Nov 18. And I'm alright with that.
It's certainly not a monopoly but I just wonder how different the press would have been had Sony purchased Zenimax? We will have to wait and see the fallout, no pun intended, in the near term and see if it triggers a round of acquisition and consolidation that makes the development of games less independent. Nothing really good ever came out of EA and Activision buying studios up why does anyone believe it is good if MS or Sony start doing it on a grander scale?
