Look even EA are starting to get games out with equivalent versions across the systems; many devs are producing better looking games on PS3, and some exclusive PS3 games are well ahead of any Xbox game out there. So I wouldn't be worried.
Has anyone noticed, that the store updates, whilst not containing any new PS1 games for ages and ages, have started releasing games at the same time as the US? To me the store updates have improved recently - looks like they're starting to sort themselves out.
You can watch last week's top gear for free, legally, on bbc iplayer as well...
It seems a very positive review for an 8/10. Though I suppose, 8/10 used to be a great score, before 7/10 turned into "average". And I think downloadable games are always rated in the 7-9 range if they are good, because no one can justify giving a 10 to an, in essence, half-game (ie not a full blown production).
We should be able to customize as many characters as we want in different ways. And change our characters' looks. If MGO were run through PSN, we wouldn't have to pay for additional characters, we'd just set up another account. We wouldn't have to log in seperately. PSN logs me in each time I boot up my PS3. That's useful. I can play all my online games... oh wait not MGO. And now they want to charge me for creating new characters. Then they "reward" me by letting me get a new pair ...
Sounds like a similar "this isn't a usual game" conceptual idea to flOw. Which is fine, but it pretends not to be a conventional game when actually you are just "Discover[ing] the five hidden sigils and unlock[ing] the path forward". Just like in flOw, which appears at first to be abstract, then you get into it and you realise it's just a game about moving your creature to things and eating them, before eating a special thing which moves you to the next level. I doubt we w...
I don't think they quite know what they are getting into with GT5. There has been NO indication that they are even working on damage; whilst it has been promised it seems to me that they will have a hard time getting it perfect and it WILL push the game back. After all, they have never done damage before and it will also HUGELY affect the entire gameplay of GT. Their online system is basic, and they've not made any moves to improve it, so I can imagine that it will retain the same format in t...
You are forgetting
5) Only matchmaking online - no way to choose who you race against
The system they have is ridiculous. I played it the other day and whilst there were people online, if I went onto some of the higher events I could barely ever get a race with more than 4 people. It's peer-to-peer and whilst you can choose which track you want to go on and with what vehicle class (performance points), most of them no one plays.
I don't think it's that weird. They seem to have produced them in a limited quantity and so only a few stores are going to stock them. In most places you won't be able to find any unless you look really hard.
WHY OH WHY do people confuse AI with difficulty level? AI looks very good in this game, eg enemies take cover and run from grenades, find new cover when it's destroyed etc. It looks very EASY in previews, because they either don't aim at you or wait a while before shooting. Why does "I got through the demo without dying" translate into bad AI? It means it's EASY, but not that the AI is rubbish. You could have the AI equivalent of human players (noobs) playing against you and that wo...
I think it will be great fun, but unless it has a lot of depth (doesn't seem so at the minute) I think it will go the way of calling all cars online; after a couple of months no one will play it. Still, I think they said that empty places can be filled with bots so that might keep the userbase ticking over for a little while longer.
"Identity crisis"
This is my main concern with home. Can someone explain, when home launches, what will I use it for? Because at the moment I see no reason why, if I want to play a game with my games console, I wouldn't just load up that game. So what will I use home for?
Limited edition this, special edition that. Why do this to every game? Who _really_ wants a special edition of this game?
Kind of a useless offer then. Is that what it costs online? I bought the disk version originally because it meant I could have multiple accounts but that's been allowed now. I don't use the headset, I use my PSEye whenever I want to talk. Headset was useless (not to mention that warhawk voice chat only works about 20% of the time for me, the other 80% I can hear other people talking to each other but to me it sounds like garbled noise).
I think his point was to show that actually the games are quite similar in some respects.
Correct. It is a sidescroller (it actually has some depth but still has a side-on camera). But you do a lot more than jump through obstacles and jump on enemies. I know the levels that have been shown that is what you do. But there have been glimpses of other types of content (minigames, machines, I saw a video of a music creating machine) so the gameplay will be a lot more varied than what we have seen before in sidescrollers.
I see where you're coming from, and I don't think it would have much of a financial impact on many people to pay for live, BUT I think it's quite underhand of microsoft to charge relatively little for their console and then fleece you out of your money by charging for a live subscription. It's a good business model and it's worked countless times in the past, but online gaming has always been free, and always should be. I also think that they've actually reduced the number of people playing o...
They don't take into account the fact that you are then restricted to one account. I don't know how it works, but if it's like PSN then you get one username, one set of high scores for each game, one online rank and one set of stats. My family has 3 PSN accounts so we each have our own seperate stats and rank on warhawk etc. The price would really add up.
Ah... so create exclusive characters for each version then charge an extra quid just to get the one that isn't on your console, at no expense to them, but effectively selling the game at a higher price..
If they've got from where they were a couple of months ago, to this, I can imagine the final game having the same visual quality as the first game BUT with all this glorious flora and fauna, water and split screen. It's going to look amazing and play amazing when it comes out. Can't wait.
