Daikatana and Duke Nukem had a "long road, might not have seen light of day" story as well. So are we "lucky" to have played those games as well?
In a nutshell: Titanfall rocks because I am a noob who is useless at shooters and too lazy to play more intelliegent, team based shooters where less skillful gamers can contribute. Hence, I love a game which is filled with dumb AI fodder who I can gun down and feel like a hero.
And it's just like COD, but with robots in it. That makes it a "technical and creative marvel".

Not exactly. The problem is rather than sony is going such great guns that those "unbiased" critics from a few years back, who were busy spreading lies about the PS3, have nowhere to run.
Far better console performance, 1080p versus 720p, for a 100$ less, with a console that is so easy to develop for, a superior portfolio of exclusives with far more variety than the bxox lineup of shooters, and games that combine gre...
Staggering. It's not "gameplay or graphics", it's the best of both worlds. And what an awesome sandbox!
Though nice of them to put a titanfall advertisement, with a bunch of headless idiots running around exactly like a generic COD clone, just before the infamous video. Very helpful to demonstrate the exact difference between last gen versus next gen.
What is really hilarious is that while killzone had a really superb, fleshed out, fun multiplayer which is genuinely different from the generic COD / Battlefield crap, most reviews ignored it completely and gave it poor scores based on the single player (which is still decent). Be prepared now for infamous to get knocked for "no multiplayer".
And to add to that, if the game barely looks any different compared to the version running on the previous gen's hardware, it's definitely not next gen at all
It's probably time people stopped clubbing together the xbox1 with the ps4 - it's just not in the same class. The PS4 has already shown enough evidence in the games shown so far it's a huge step in terms of graphics, physics, draw distance. In contrast, you might as well stick with the xbox360 considering how little improvement the "next gen" offers with that console.

I am looking forward to his 5/10 score for the full-price COD clone releasing soon which doesn't even have a single player to begin with.

Which seems to be a standard minimum requirement only when it comes to PS exclusives, even when they actually do try to create something different, while the latest COD / COD clone / Halo / Zelda gets by with the same old stale gameply.
I am hopeful it will be a cover shooter like Uncharted - solid story, atmosphere, characters and all-round gameplay with top-class graphics rather than another generic shooter with a bunch of hilariously beefy, oversized "heroes"

The rest of the world is Playstation unfortunately.
the problem is that Nintendo showed the middle finger to gamers with the wii, a badly underpowered machine relying on a fad and casual users.
Unfortunately, almost every single person I know who has bought a wii is a casual gamer who has barely used it, and they are not going to buy another console. And the gamers are not coming back either, certainly not for the same tired old franchises over and over again.

Now, the PS4 is $100 cheaper, and in a class of it's own.
And you are desperately relying on a game with last gen textures and graphics, without even a single-player, limited to 6v...
Graphics are important when PS3 multiplatform games used to run 1-2 frames slower than XBOX360 versions, but not when PS4 games run at 1080p versus 720p on the XBone.
And what is really funny, I have seen loads of PS3/PS4/XBOX games being marked down severely for being weak graphically (with comments such as "the game looks like it's from 2007") but I have never seen a high profile Wii game being marked down despite being far weaker resolution and graphical effe...

If you like a game with no single-player at all (remember how much games like Killzone are nitpicked because of "story"), limited to 6 v6, old gen graphics and plays essentially like Call of Duty with a couple of ideas nicked from games like tribes. And tons of dumb AI to shoot up.
But it's just what the core XBOX screaming American schoolkid audience would love, to fill the gap between the other "run around ...
the problem with this game is that it is trying to be the anti-COD / BF, team-based, 6 v 6, etc.
but those it would appeal to would be the PS4 MAG / Socom / killzone crowd.
it would be ideal for the XBOX crowd if it was a simple, twitch shooter like COD or Halo. It may be console exclusive for the wrong console the way it's being projected.

That sounds like a practical time to buy the PS4, as a lot of the really big titles will be out next year - the order and uncharted for instance.
The real question is is there any game that is exclusive or really superior for the PS4 that you would like to play now. For me it was killzone, not so much the single as the multiplayer and the coop coming soon. It could be infamous or watchdogs for you.
