Actually, when it comes to AI, attention to detail on tracks, and physics / gameplay it is better. Of course GT stomps both into the mud.
Just like killzone 2 in the last generation the (deserved) hype about graphics actually takes attention away from amazing gameplay. Driveclub would be a 9/10 game with last gen forza graphics and no weather.

Strangely enough, if "open world" is so critical, I didn't find that being given much importance in case of killzone SF, the most ambitiously open world shooter so far this generation. Which doesn't make sense, unless the objective is to find some way to nitpick PS4 exclusives. I can think of another game from a previous generation which is somewhat linear, had a load of QTEs, excellent graphics, somewhat typical third-person shooter dynamics.

It is a brilliant racer, not a sim like Gt but not an arcade either, can be difficult. But very good challenge if you like racing games, even without taking the graphics into account. Yes, if you want one driving game, just one, to show off the ps4's capability, realistic graphics and enjoy superb driving dynamics, this has to be it. You won't be dissapointed.

The gameplay is pretty much the same as gears.
So, gameplay is such a great concern when you have cutting edge graphics, a distinctive art style and a very interesting alternative history story
But gameplay won't be a concern when they release gear 5, 6 or 7 with the same old generic, mind numbing big-muscled supah-soldier "plot" and generic, mind-numbingly boring "futuristic" setting.
