Thief4 is under development :)

Thief and Deus Ex, the two most awesome games I played (at least until Uncharted came along and upped the stakes) and really looking forward to the next installments in both these series
Ratchet and Clank for me. Great graphics, characters, funny story, greta gameplay, never gets the love it deserves.
Resistance 1 was a superb game, made in one year on a limited budget but great gameplay and story elements, solid online, innovative weapons, the weapon wheel and health packs were retro but perfect for the game.
The problem was that Insomniac felt a lot of pressure due to the extent of nitpicking and criticism by the media, the same reviewers who gave perfect scores to the likes of Halo 3. We have seen the same in case of GT5 or KZ2, but the likes of Polyphony can afford th...
"Errr, you want to explain to me how it'll be a Timed Exclusive if ... Crytek is developing and Microsoft Game Studios is PUBLISHING? "
Just like Ninja Gaiden 2, which was PUBLISHED by MS, how did that end up - lets see, superior version with coop on PS3.
I think they should support it for at least 6 months after Socom - so you should get close to a years worth of gaming.
And dont worry about being new, remember to be less gung-ho, and use your medic abilities to the max, you will both level up fast and also be useful to your squad.
Great game, worth buying, dont lose out on this experience!
Sanad – i have seen Forza, the typical forza car is not much better than a standard car in GT5, with just a very crappy cockpit view added in, while the premium car in GT5 is way, way superior. I can perfectly see why they were able to create just 200 of them, it would take several times as long to create a GT5 premium as it does to make a Forza car.
What are the alternatives? Ditch the standards which wouldn’t save much, merely enough to create 50 more premiums? Or downgrad...
You are right – something like Gears 2 was fun, game-breaking glitches, broken online, ultra-short content, dated graphics engine and laughable plot is what gaming perfection is all about
What is even more funny is that I got a disagree within less than a minute for pointing out the hypocrisy of posters like the one above. Obviously he just sits around all day to troll on GT5 posts and post disagrees when someone exposes their dubious logic.
What A Loser.
Big deal. GT5 is “merely” comparable to other racers in some respects (tracks, standard cars, shadows ), while its way superior in some other aspects such as car physics , damage and the graphics on premium cars (which would be more important to people interested in actually playing the game).
All racing games have poor shadows, in order to maximise resources on the cars (because its a racing game, duh!). For instance, Forza 3:
“ the shadows seem to be a little pixela...
But the cars comparison does make sense in GT vs Forza, as more cars means more taxing on AI. Its like having 2 opponents versus 6 at any time in a shooter game.
In any case, whether you agree with the AI levelling approach or not, its fair to say that you have to compare GT5 AI after level 40 to make a comparison. And I haven’t heard anyone deny that at that level, GT5 AI/damage is better than Forza – which is impressive considering that supposed to Forza’s strong point, wh...
Use your mind please
F-zero is a fabulous game, but its last gen, in 480i, much lower level of effects and visuals.
Its like saying Dynsaty warriors has far more enemies on screen compared to God of War 3, hence its better
While this certainly proves a point, still feel a bit sad looking at the way reviews and gaming coverage is headed. I read at least 5-6 reviews that essentially admitted that GT5 is the best simulator, but scored it low because wanted it to play like an arcade game, with instant gratification, painted cars and flashy, tacked on damage from hour 1. GT can get away with being true to itself because of its following, but smaller games would probably get killed if they deviate from the CoD/Halo/N...
I think the crux of the issue is this: it takes far more time to create a premium car, with all its detail, than it does to create a standard car. So, if they dumped all the standard cars, they could either a) create 250 premiums instead of 200 b) create 1000 cars with crap, half-baked interiors and last-gen damage like Forza.
The option they chose was the right one – create 200 cars with details and damage models a generation ahead of any other racer, and do small upgrades ...
Fans love it
reviewers and xbots hate it
Wonder who Polyphony would be looking to please?
Bottomline: PS3 games make 360 games look like last gen games. There is nothing to do with hype or marketing, just facts
Compare Halo 3 to MGS4/Uncharted 1, Halo Reach to GoW3/KZ2/UC2, Forza 3 to GT5.
I am shocked Motorstorm PR sold just 1 million, great improvement over 1st game in every way possible
1 million sales for Flower is decent for aa budget, low priced title.
RPGs just dont sell as much these days. Even a mastyerpiece like ME sold barely 5 million over 2 console games, games like Valkyria, Lost Odyssey and Demon's souls were around the 1m mark.
Warhwak and infamous should have sold more, and so too both Ratchet games.
The premium cars are so detailed, so much better than seen in any other racing game, that they could not have designed more than 200 in 6 years
If they dumped the standard cars, the time saved would have been enough for barely 50 premiums
So we have 3 options:
Have 400 cars with average details and crappy interior view like Forza
250 premium cars
200 premium cars and a huge number (800) standard cars
Guess which opt...
"In what real world does damage increase as you drive?"
refer to ryuzu's comment. Its not "increased", its switched on in stages after you reach a certain level.
Cars: GT5. GT5 has 200 premium cars with far superior in-car details and modelling than anything on Forza, and 800 standard cars roughly same standard as Forza.
Graphics: GT5. No question. Lighting, 1080p, visual effects
Handling: GT5. The most realistic physics and handling in any console simulation, even if this reviews doesn’t seem to know the definition of handling and thinks “many will prefer Forza’s bumpy rides”
Tracks: GT5. More track...
"all about quality not sales"
I think you will find that the PS3 owners and GT fans – the people Polyphony should actually care about – are perfectly happy with the quality. Better graphics/lighting, 2x as many Forza-quality standard cars, 200 premiums far better than anything on Forza, superior physics/handling, Nascar/Rally, damage modelling a generation ahead of Forza means GT5 is a failure, except for those interested in the game.
Are you happy with Halo...
