Tabletop Mode will not be an option with Switch Lite as indicated in the story

Neither one of those details is included and frankly neither one of those make a bit of sense.

A higher resolution display and improved hardware, namely with the concessions made, wouldn't result in improved battery life.

Where's the "XL" listed in that again? 🤔

Plus I literally called it one to one before that story was even posted. As everyone knows how Nintendo handled 3DS.

Losing features going to Lite makes Lite irrelevant. The base Switch will also be irrelevant with the launch of a XL model as XL will likely have titles that only work on it. As that's what Nintendo does.

I think what you meant to say honestly is at the t...

There's zero guarantee Switch Lite will play all preexisting or upcoming games. Particularly with the prospect of a "XL" model said to also come.

As DillyDilly said above some preexisting games will not work with the Switch Lite without an additional purchase. Namely because of the removal of motion control and the JoyCon change.

Look above your last comment. You're a little late.

Switch Lite won't be switching
2DS lost 3D thus Nintendo going with 2DS instead of sticking with 3DS then simply adding "Lite" to the name
Nintendo couldn't call it 3DS Lite because the name would advertise 3D
Nintendo really can't call it Switch Lite as it will not be switching

Nintendo already took this exact stance. It can potentially fall under fal...

...How much "stronger" do you think 3DS XL was compared to 3DS or 2DS? The reason for that capability wasn't "stregnth". It was stripping features going from 3DS to 2DS just to tack in things like the second analog stick. Because they didn't want to lower the cost of 3DS thus the "budget" 2DS. Then they were able to increase costs over the original 3DS when going XL.

All while attempting to find mandatory ways for individuals to buy a n...

Do you not understand the logic Nintendo used when naming the Switch?

The Lite won't be switching as there's no dock for TV play.

Plus the dock separately is $100. So you could effectively spend the same amount if you want TV play to still lose features of the launch Switch.

And the base Switch will become the stepchild. Forgotten in the name of more profit, or that's Nintendo's hope.

EDIT: Nintendo co...

It's not surprise to call something as it is.

Missing features in the Lite guarantee a segregated experience already. Then once the "Switch XL" comes up you'll see games exclusive to "Switch XL" that will not work on the Lite nor launch model. As Nintendo already did with the 3DS line.

Glad you all knew it was coming. Hopefully people realize doing so with 3DS did not provide great results and the average consumer became aware....

Bahaha. Actually called this directly. Switch Lite = 2DS. A Switch lacking capabilities present on the original Switch to cut down the price instead of a price cut on existing hardware.

Now for Switch XL with capabilities not present on either and the segregation of titles going forward. Should be great. Plus a price point above the original Switch.

They did this same crap with 3DS. Glad I didn't invest in one based on the track record Nintendo has sh...

That’s terrific. I live in Colorado and know that either way life in prison exists.

So fucking stupid. Even better it says zero about them sleeping together. So you’d get to enjoy your shitty decision away from your daughter either way. 🙂

I’m sure it’d be a real treat to visit you in prison after being a psychopath with zero basis. In particular after shunning their decisions about their own lives. Completely legal decisions.

Windows Phones also. Then awkwardly I didn’t run into titles that wouldn’t play remotely. 🤨

Zombies isn’t available in the beta. Why would you want them to segregate a co-op experience?

2521d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

Source please? I don’t think you have them as there is zero details about the new SKUs. For all people know it could be nothing more than a “Switch XL” or “2Switch” situation. Upgraded screen size on one with higher cost. Lite version for those looking to spend less.

Plus as Nintendo did with the 3DS line it will be entirely possible that future Switch games programmed around a higher end model will not work on the current model or any lite revisions.

Wii U. Widely successful.

Those two don’t even belong in the same realm.

It’s years behind because Nintendo insists on making a profit on their products from day one. To do so they buy the cheapest components with little regard for how obsolete those components already are.

Case in point: Releasing the Switch with an outdated Tegra chip. Already cheap because it’s a mobile component. Even cheaper because the Tegra X2 was released right ...

Yeah, just look at products like Super Mario Run, Pokémon Go, the upcoming Dr. Mario World, and other mobile titles created for Nintendo under Nintendo themes and characters. /s

I’m sure Nintendo is investing quite a bit into the mobile scene and companies like DeNA because Nintendo fans love buying whatever Nintendo shoved out. Plus as evidenced those practices for Nintendo are acceptable but other companies not. /s

Along with Mario Kart Tour where ...

The laws in many states were governed by the states as a whole. As the United States Constitution gives them that ability.

If you did what you said also you wouldn’t have to worry about court. There’s a noose, a needle, or a chair for you. Even pharmaceuticals. 🙂 As that’s actually what’s moral and lawful.

And the FBI is going to do what with zero legal basis and something supported by the laws they’re supposed to uphold?

Along with the fact that the United States Constitution grants states the ability to govern without federal interference? So constitutionally, morally, and lawfully what you said adds up to a bunch of nothing.

I’m pretty sure the FBI has lots of better things to handle instead of something supported by the law. If they don’t it’s rather te...

I really wonder if individuals here on N4G know that the age of consent in the US is overall 16 and some states in the US is below 16. I also wonder if they realize that most places around the world have similar laws.

People jumping over nothing. Guy found someone he wanted to be around and date. Likely the girl was in the same boat. Also interestingly zero mentions where it took place or where either is from. Not to mention that the "association" that banned him ...

Why is this even worth the time to evaluate? Once again Apple is looking out for a larger amount of their consumers and offering more than Google.

Both are $10
Apple allows you to download any games off of the app store
Google is limiting you to one or two games a month
Apple will support devices and does as far back as iPhone 6
Google kills support for devices shortly after the next version
Apple will allow you to download the g...
