I couldn't really understand that paragraph because it was pretty choppy, but I think I read that Microsoft was right to stop third party support? That's a very bad move, considering it looks like they want to monopolize, which won't happen
@Naar: Wouldn't an early lunch mean late breakfast? =P
@free3sixty: If 3rd place caused the PS3 to stop pumping out AAA exclusives, I would've cared. Luckily, joining the 3rd placemen gives me AAA titles that I won't have to pay $50 extra for if I want the full enjoyment.
2nd place gets you a neck-and-neck race with a 10 year old console in Japan. It gives you a faulty, dated console worldwide, and it gives you Halo games for $110 (I'm including online fees) everywh...
"free comes with a fee" says Microsoft.
Exhibit A: Online play
Do me a favor:
withdraw Halo, insert Call Of Duty.
There's your new standard. We have a Halo killer, and it's a franchise that's been around for years.
None of which are released. Kinda obvious that eventually, there will be a game that can surpass an older game graphically. Of all those games, the only one I can see truly passing it will be Heavy Rain. God of War is pretty close, but Heavy Rain takes the cake.
What race or nationality is "Great People"?
PS3 owners don't have money, yet were able to buy $600 machines?
Here's a wake up call:
PlayStation Network upgraded significantly over three years. No one paid a cent for online play.
Until you show me how you track your money, I won't believe that all that money is going to making XBL better. If that were the case, it probably wouldn't be so laggy and cluttered with ads.
But you're quite fond of a cluttered mess?
You are ass backwards
Old Dashboard > New 3D XMB
I expected the buzz to wear off a bit sooner. I was seeing articles on the PS3 price cut well into a month after the announcement. I'd say the Wii's price drop buzz wore off the quickest but the other two weren't as significant. The 360 was already at $200 and the Wii was always an expensive PS2 with motion control..... sorry, I really couldn't help myself by saying that.
homophobe
Xbox Live is, in no way, "vastly" superior. It's a more voiced community, but in no way does that make it better. A "superior" online service is opinion, and some 360-only gamers feel it's superior just because money is getting thrown into it.
You don't know where those $50 are going! It could go to marketing for all you know! No subscription fee on PSN, yet there is still improvements, constantly making it a more enjoyable service without a charge.
Sales for Calling All Cars were slow enough already. It's an early 2007 game, dude. People didn't buy that game for the online experience. That's Warhawk's territory.
People are still playing CS2? I guess they got nothing better to do. What a waste of a $50 a year subscription...
That's exactly how Microsoft wants you to think.
People such as yourself, who say "eh, $50 a year ain't bad", might say "eh, what's another $50" and so on. The more money they can push out of you, the more they'll keep pushing. You're just buying into something that you shouldn't be spending so much on.
Those $60 you used on ODST should get you everything that game has to offer. Instead, you'd be willing to give MS another $50 and possibly even $1...
Have fun playing Crimson Skies 2 online... by yourself. That's why it's getting taken down, dummy.
Calling All Cars is more of an "on the couch" party game, not online. The online part was pretty empty, so why keep it going?
Oh, and the fact the dead online communities in games that no one plays might just be why XBL lags so much, wouldn't you think? How about they make room for online games people are actually playing?
I really don't think you can be that... uhh... "unsmart".
Halo 2 is online because that's all anyone used to play on Xbox Live. It's still very active, so why would they shut it down. Warhawk and Resistance is still very active, meaning those will stay online for a while.
What I got out of that was "I don't care about sales". You know what? That's totally fine. If you don't care about sales, you don't have to.
I'm not saying I want to worry about how many copies a game makes. You're missing the reason as to why I'm keeping an eye on it. When I look at the sales to this game in the US, I think "Hey, people are liking this. Hopefully more will buy it!", not "Good, more money in Sony and ND's pockets!"
The m...
Really? It's coming two weeks later?
Hopefully PS3 owners will get done with Brutal Legend, Demon's Souls and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves by then. And there's still Borderlands to cover?! Jeez, it's packed for us right now, and it's only October!
Excuse my friend here.
He's been insulted so many times on XBL, he thinks insults are just a way of speaking.
Dude, you're "Bashing" a different online service because not everyone has a mic to spread the hate via their own voice? It's people like you that give people the assumption that Xbox Live is immature compared to PlayStation Network.
I hope you realize that you gave everyone against XBL a reason to hate on it.
It's the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. That's their names. It's not changing.
:)
