There will still be free avatars. Just like there are premium themes. If you've payed attention, you would know that they've been charging for some things for a while, but it doesn't mean you can't get the same things for free.

I know Uncharted 2 will be an absolute masterpiece, but MGS4 is still my favorite game this generation. That's coming from someone who loves Uncharted, Resistance, Motorstorm, COD, God of War, Gran Turismo, Killzone 2, inFamous and Ratchet & Clank as some of the greatest games this gen.

That's because ODST is a disc-based version of what is supposed to be a DLC. Only reason why it isn't downloadable is probably because MS has a limit to the sizes of what a dev can create on the Marketplace.
