GTA IV. This missions bore me. I usually get distracted and run people over and cause mayhem.
Screen tearing. Yuck. Not my type of game.
Excellent article.
I'm 28 and I can relate to everything they said in the article.
I want more brain-teasers in games instead of just shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot.
I used to love the Tomb Raider series because it was more about exploring than fighting. Same thing with Silent Hill. The latest Silent Hill (Homecoming) sucked so bad though.
Maybe I'm a different category gamer. Instead of just shooting my way through a gam...
Here's what I want:
- Better graphics (at 1080p)
- Stable framerates
- SAME CONTROLLERS
That is all.
Battlefield is gonna look like crap on the console, have dodgy framerates and probably tons of screen tearing.
People are going to be playing MW3 on consoles because it will look good, have 60fps and no screen tearing. This is where Call of Duty excels.
Face it, people love the smooth 60fps and lightening quick controller response of Call of Duty titles. There's no denying that. Even though some people may not know that they are play 60fps, they may just ...
Big deal you guys. Do you really think that COD fans (myself included) are going to say "I'm not buying this game because it uses some of the same animations as the previous one!!!".
Come on... that's the most ridiculous reason not to buy a game.
My point is... people who play COD are not the type of people who worry about if the animations have changed since the last one. They just want new maps, new guns and some more balanced gameplay. Th...
Umm... they've already confirmed that LA Noire is NOT using the same engine as GTA and RDR. They're using a new engine created by Team Bondi.
You must be thinking of the control scheme being the same (triangle to enter a car... ect.)
Doubt you'd notice anything during live gameplay though.
I used to be a PC gamer, but the jittery-ness of the mouse used to aim and control things just doesn't feel as natural as using a controller. Then, if you use a controller on a PC, you'll get owned online because most people are using mice and keyboards which would give them a huge advantage over you.
Not to mention constantly being worried about every little frame drop, pairing back graphics, messing with settings constantly... then just when you think you have every...
Infinity Ward has always made a better game than Treyarch.
I have trust in Infinity Ward. However, they've lost some key people from their team so it's hard to tell exactly what will happen, but I'm sure it's going to be better than that Treyarch junk they call Black Ops.
All the Infinity Ward versions of Call of Duty ran like a dream and MW2 was pretty much exactly the same on both platforms. I got 60fps almost always in MW2 multiplayer, but ...
Medal of Honor is totally going to wipe the floor with Call of Du... wait a second...
Seriously you guys. Graphics don't make a game good.
Anyway, I like the fast pace of Call of Duty games. Yeah, it's not realistic, but I don't want it to be.
You've gotta admit, they've got an award-winning formula, if they change it, they risk losing their audience. Whether you like it or not, people LIKE this franchise A LOT.
...
You're entitled to your opinion about Battlefield games, but I just can't get into them for some reason. Plus, all my friends play COD games and I'd rather have a good time playing with my friends than play an online game by myself with a bunch of strangers.
In my opinion, the Battlefield series is missing the fun element (for me). I'm sure others find it fun, but it's obviously not the majority.
Graphics don't make the game good. You can have the best graphics in the world and the game can still not be fun.
Point is... COD is fun for many people. That's why people are drawn to it. It's not the realism and it's not the graphics. It's fun, easy to pick up, easy to play and plays so smooth that it's hard to put down. It's not a tactical hardcore shooter people... it's an arcade-style run-and-gun game with a modern war theme.
Does anyone ever consider the reason that people like COD is because it's FUN???
They don't care about graphics and realism. There's something for everyone in COD. If people wanna run around and just knife because they think it's fun, LET 'EM. If people wanna shoot noob-tubes at you all day long... let 'em! They're having FUN!
After all, isn't that what video games are for?
Also, why is everyone so concerned...

Why would you wanna turn 3D off? The point of buying a 3DTV is to watch movies and play games in 3D mode right?
What I'm saying is, the input lag is probably pretty high due to all the processing that the TV is doing when running a 3D game.
If the dude that posted this video gets murdered, we'll know who did it.
I can't imagine the kind of input lag 3D causes on 3DTVs. I mean, I can't even take my TV off game mode without getting frustrated... add yet another process and the lag must get worse right?
I don't believe in all this 3D crap.
Also, nobody is going to want to watch you game if they can't experience the same thing. Everyone else in the room is just going to see a blurry screen unless you have glasses for everyone. Even then, if they're no...
But, they aren't lying. Rockstar DID release the game.
Team Bondi is the developer. You don't hear people saying "Black Box released a new Skate game"... no, it's usually "EA releases a new Skate game". Black Box is the developer and EA is the publisher... just like Team Bondi is the developer and Rockstar are the publishers.
Why don't they just leave Sony alone. They say they don't wanna hurt Sony's customers, but hurting Sony HURTS THE CUSTOMERS!
Fucking idiots.
