Man, the Sony only guys seem to be in major damage control for weeks now.
It's whatever, just wait for the Pro to come out buy it, and enjoy it. You guys have been tooth and nail trying to defend a streak of PlayStation news and also screw ups(Concord).
My point is stop trying so hard with comments like "It's not for everyone" or "if you can't afford it don't buy it" and my favorite, paraphrased, "People who get an...
I like the aesthetics, but another souls like...no thanks.
Nice showing, I suspect more than 1/2 of what was shown are not exclusive.
I did like that they showed the games getting PS5 Pro enhanced...some games that are not even released yet ..GoY looked nice, but sure was hoping for a wolverine trailer.
It's not necessarily that people don't like remasters, it's more that Sony is hardly showing anything new when they are known to be the drivers of new, IP, sequels, etc...
That and the fact that they are releasing the PRO, and nothing new was shown off yet(that may change this week), seems to be the gripe rather than the remasters/remakes.
Sorry, I misspoke,
That would make it 3 Remasters!
my bad
I wish it were a remake, but this looks decent.
I wish it didn't leak, one less exciting moment for the SoP later today.
2 remakes(Rumored) and now one remaster.
I'm going in expecting bangers, their devs had enough time for something to be shown already, especially Wolverine. The 30 min might seem low, but Nintendo has managed to have some great showings with similar show lengths, all they have to do is show the games, and not do a bunch of talking or extended looks.
Finally, all 1st party games they show have to be PS5 Pro enhanced, and I want to see FF7: Rebirth(PRO) type of jumps or better.
I partly agree, but.....
"They are hoping that subscribers increase to make up for that loss in sales."
Absolutely they would like an increase in GP sub, but the offset of dev cost for GP day one 1st party games is selling them on PC, and now on PlayStation, Nintendo.and anything with a screen..so they have effectively opened up a stream of revenue that makes sense all around and was not there before Nintendo and Sony (new stream).
<...
Yeah, I get that aspect of it, but GP is hardly the only revenue stream, game development is being offset by many other revenues lanes...they don't only make money from GP.
See my above post to the butt guy
Also, raising prices is not an indication of a failing service or product...Sony raised PS+ price and they have tons of systems and subs...Sony raised the price of the base PS5 even tho they are selling like hotcakes, Sony raised the price of their...
Lol, relax a bit man.
So if they pull in 3 billion from GP alone, and spend 1 billion for 3rd party games that is counted towards the service itself.
Now moving onto
"Never mind the cost of running the service I.e salaries, server maintenance, etc. game pass also has to fund at least a significant portion of the full dev cycle for ALL Microsoft first party games, all salaries of studios, rent, etc"
You certainly like ...
But wasn't it reported that GP makes 3 billion annually? I would suspect that it's making a little bit more now with the price hike, and even a few more adopters.
So the make 3bill and spend 1bill on content...sounds like profit to me.
D4 Amazing!!
Wow, that is a significant difference!
Yeah, even tho the system is selling well, Sony seems outta sorts from there usual 1st party big games. We know Jim lead them down a path that they have to dig themselves out of, but man they have been overall dull IMO this past year.
My hope is that they plan to blow everything out at there next showcase, which seems like we have been playing the waiting game for a very long time... surely Wolverine is ready to show off.
Raven,
I'm always level-headed :).
Despite what is perceived, I have bought every single PS console since PS1, I remember living in NYC and going downtown to the Sony building just to play the display/kiosk, I was blown away, me and my brothers saved up and bought one shortly after.
I'm a gamer first(and like Nintendo the most) and you will be hard-pressed to find any post where I aimlessly diss Sony, I do defend Xbox, but it...
That is actually really, really good, especially for a console.
If I'm impressed by the games at the next showcase I will get one.
Fox,
Good point...instead of primary attention, they only get a fraction because so much other negative news.
The just couldn't let Sony take all the negative feedback for the last week or so huh..lol.
But I suspect we will hear more layoff from more companies pretty soon...
Wtf, so the messaging was terrible, it's the okie doke.
The more info that comes out about this system the worse it gets.
They need to hurry up and show some real games running on this thing, nothing short of a impressive display of games running with all bells and whistles will redeemed this terrible press and showing.
Yo, Sony is literally becoming scummy...wtf are they doing recently...anyone who defends this is just being ridiculous.
