I don't play many first-person shooters, but when I do, I expect something that isn't bare-bones like this lackluster title.
Can't say I've ever been a fan of Magic the Gathering.
It's hard to say if this game will succeed in terms of its multiplayer component. So far, though, it sure as hell looks like it's going to succeed due to its single player campaign.
Anyone getting the 3DS on day one?
I can understand why even good games can be somewhat disappointing. I think Fable 3 deserved a spot on this list. It just wasn't very good.
Looks like an action-packed game worth checking out. Although I need to play the first game before I even think about playing this one. =P
You really can't go wrong with games like New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Donkey Kong Country Returns, or one of my personal favorites, Kirby's Epic Yarn. There is a bunch of other great titles like MadWorld, No More Heroes, and Little King's Story as well if you're looking for something different from Nintendo's main franchises.
This looks pretty cool. I love a good dungeon crawler. If only I had an iPhone. Or an iPad.
This looks like a lot of fun. I like the old-school design, and the developer's emphasis on making the game have some funny moments in it seems interesting. This is the kind of game that you play with a buddy, only to lash out at that person for making a big mistake, then laughing when you make one. Hopefully it gets ported to consoles when it launches.
I may have to give this a go sometime. Of course, there are other more impressive titles I'd rather play first.
Looks fun, but I'd rather play the console version.
No, comparing God of War (fantasy action-adventure) to Zelda (fantasy action-adventure) is like comparing Call of Duty (FPS) to Bad Company 2(FPS). GTA is an action-adventure series.
However, I will agree with you that Zelda games are system sellers for me as well.
I've heard plenty of people mention Zelda when they play God of War and vice versa. It's not that the games are similar, but they do offer core elements that fans of the genre can enjoy. It's not as if I'm making a comparison between Zelda and GTA, both of which are action-adventure games. The keyword is "fantasy".
@sidar: Just wanted to point out that nowhere in the article is the word "replacement" used. These are just alternatives that some gamers who like Zelda may also enjoy.
As of the latest update, it doesn't look like there will be any multiplayer component in the game.
Sonic Fan Remix may have been better than Sonic 4 (to some), but Sonic Colors on the DS blows both of those games away. It's fun and original.
@thats_just_prime: Actually, I know a lot more about game design than you might think. I know that there are multiple departments for the different aspects of the game, but let's look at Studio Pixel. ONE MAN created every aspect of Cave Story. Took him five years, but he did it. I think it is completely ludicrous that people are praising something that is so unoriginal. The single new level in the demo was awesome, if a bit short. The designers obviously have some good ideas for level de...
Not sure if you've played it, but Sonic Colors on the DS is an excellent 2D Sonic game. It's not HD (like that matters), but it is a great new Sonic game that actually plays to the strengths of the older games. That game is proof that Sega can create a great new, ORIGINAL Sonic sidescroller, and it throws Sonic Fan Remix out the window.
The point I'm trying to make is this: Yes, Sonic Fan Remix looks good, but it doesn't offer much original content. The game doesn't do anything Sega hasn't already done in terms of level design. Yes, it is an impressive-looking endeavor, but the fact that it isn't a completely new game makes it underwhelming.
And when people say, "Sega should hire these guys", they're basically saying, "Sega should hire these guys to create something tha...
Didn't play it on the DS, so I sure as heck won't be playing it on Facebook. =P
