lol Care to explain how "dirty" and "unfair" [and "anti gamer"] Young Horses are for branching out to more platforms? Or do you simply want to scapegoat Microsoft again.
These sony exclusives keep going multiplat, so I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Kingdom Hearts 3 on PC as well.
If you think that language files equate to 4.7gbs worth of data, I've got some bad news for you...
lol The disagrees can't handle the fact that XO can output the same as PS4 at 1/2 the install size. XD
:/ Would've preferred a higher degree of difficulty… Seems like games today are too easy (excluding a few titles, obviously).
Seems like you should visit fool.com more often. I'm surprised you didn't register it yourself.
Thank you for your nitpickie-ness. Next time I'll be sure to dumb it down and/or use the correct terminology.
True story! That is a success! Me/my brother and a couple of friends are working on the storyboard of our dream game… Ambitious A.F., but I'll be damned if we don't give it our best go. :)
It'll take several years (or more), but I'm confident that at the very least we'll make a large enough portion to work as an effective portfolio piece should we apply to a larger development studio. *fingers crossed*
*Aspiring Game Journalism Sites Are Writing So Poorly, They Are Getting Desperate [enough to resort to this sort of flame bate in order to get any sort of ad revenue…]
Seriously though, this is getting pathetic guys.
Honestly, I've got the feeling like they'd have to release this on as many platforms as possible in order to achieve financial success… Not really sure why, but it didn't scream "success" at me whenever I saw it.
I've got a friend who'll be very happy he can play this on his XO. :)
The explanation is the same as it always is for custom hardware: It takes time to learn the hardware and how to develop for it, and it takes time for the dev. tools to make it to the developers… First-party devs. are always the first to get it. 343? Yeah, they've been working with the best that Microsoft can give them for the past 1.5 years. But Kojima? He started his game before he knew what that the Xbox One existed.
The Cell took years to learn, and XO will take years ...
@PsylentKiller
I have to disagree. The intellectual property that all of the big three own will make entering the console gaming market dam* near impossible for someone to get in on the action. Imagine a newbie going up against a new Zelda, or Halo, or Uncharted… That wouldn't be a pretty sight.
*Disclaimer: and yes, it's spelled that way on purpose, cuz this sight is so anal about everything. No need to correct me or flag the comment. - _ -
You're remembering incorrectly. For its time, GoW made a large majority of PC games tremble. Not for very long mind you, but for 2006, GoW was one of the best looking games anyone had ever seen.
I can remember a time when Xbox 360 blew everyone out of the water with their resolutions (Gears of War)… PS3 couldn't HOPE to reach that [or so it seemed] at the time. But fast forward a few years and you're seeing TLOU and whatnot…
My point? Consoles take years - YEARS - to get running at full capacity. Talking like this is XO's death sentence makes you look nothing but ignorant and/or desperate.
:P You expected anything less?
Guess you missed last year's E3 where MS showed nothing but games and Sony spent the whole time making wise cracks about their competition… smh, you'll believe whatever you tell yourself - regardless of the reality of the situation.
Real talk! Hypocrisy is N4G's middle name! By definition, this game isn't 1080p. Spinning it as such is falsifying information. (But then again, it's N4G, so what'd you expect?)
btw, love the avatar (and comment). Nintendo really needs to get Retro working on Metroid… My Wii U is waaaaay too dusty.
I'll say the same thing I did in an "argument" with a moderator on Kotaku.
- _ - If the image isn't broadcasted in 1080p - if the image being rendered isn't 1080x1920 - then the game isn't 1080p. Is that a bad thing? Not at all! Ryse is the best looking next-gen title @ "only" 900p… But call it what it is instead of what you want it to be. The Order: 1886 is running at a cinematic 800x1920, which equates to 800p. Spinning it any other way ...
- _ - This is getting pathetic (not that it wasn't already)… Desperate author is desperate.
Because N4G can't handle alternate opinions.
