Is reviewing betas really necessary? I mean, that's like reviewing an unfinished demo.

Despite the common misconception you're presenting, the PS3's sales were actually on par with the X360 in terms of sales by the end of their first year of release. And with the momentum of the PS2's "brand name" ? It would've been much higher if not for that ridiculous $600 price tag.

First year's end:

PS3: 5,552,074 sales
X360: 5,656,039 sales

Hard to believe that the OG Xbox sold better [out of the gate] than the PS3 did… Especially considering the steam the PS brand had behind it after the PS2's "massive success." (<- understatement of the decade)

Oh you've got to be joking! It took the PS3 9 months to drop the $600 price tag down to a competitive $500, and look at where it is today! The XO's price is hardly a lingering issue.

I wouldn't take this as bad news… In fact, I'd take it as the complete opposite. Halo 2 Anniversary would be perfect for 2014, and it would also open up the ability for 343i to spend another year perfecting Halo 5 to squeeze every ounce out of the Xbox One's hardware.

:) I'd rather H2A this year and Halo 5 for next year.

Oh hell yeah I'm going to be playing it! Thief: The Dark Project was one of the first games that I ever played [read: was old enough to recognize it as a game], so I'm for sure going to pick this up! Gotta support franchises you love if you expect them to stay around. :)

Plus Sessler gave Ryse a 2/5, and I throughly enjoyed that. He reviews very conservatively, so a 3/5 isn't a bad score.

Bro, the Xbox launched in Europe bundled with FIFA and/or Forza… NA? Nothing. Didn't keep me (and a million+ others (including yourself)) from making the purchase. Why is that different now?

ESRAM has its advantages and disadvantages, same as GDDR5. It all depends on how you use them. Being the best software company in the world? I'm more than content with the ESRAM decision… Just would've rathered the size be larger than 32mbs.

This is the price you pay (pun intended) for picking up consoles on day one. I did it, payed the full $500 for a North American Xbox One (aka, no bundled Forza or FIFA), and I'm happy with my purchase. Would I have rather have gotten a bundled game? Of course! Who wouldn't!? But that's just how it is. Don't like it? Don't adopt Day One - on any platform.
