For better or worse (most optimists would see it for better), Blu Ray is driving PS3 console sales. The good thing about this, is the increased potential for those who buy it originally for movies, to now have the ability to play next-generation games as well.
It's not surprising to see Sony doing as well as they are now, however, seeing as how many people predicted (even back in the middle of 2007) that 2008 would be Sony's comeback year. So far most of the predictions have come true, with only really extreme naysayers and nitpicky fanboys complaining about issues that are or have become moot points.

This is what I always wanted out of this game! The Endless mode reminds me of playing Geometry Wars, only this game takes it to a new level. Awesome!
They could make a create-a-sackboy contest and the winner gets a PS3/LBP bundle and their own customized sackboy. They'd make a nice gift for someone at the very least.
The memories almost bring a tear to my eye... so many great titles in the still-maturing age of videogaming. The mid-to-late nineties sure put out some gems...
They need to go so far as to install demo stations in stores where people can go and create levels or mess around with the game and then have other people play them who walk by. It would be a good way to spread the user content for people who haven't purchased the game yet, but are really curious as to what it offers.

Has a damn good 1080p picture, and does 1080/24p for Blu-Ray films as well.
Though I agree that there are a lot more people out there that haven't made the jump to 1080p quite yet, as it is becoming the standard on many larger sets 42" and up we will see many more consumers making the jump to 1080p in the next year or so. I think even more so because Blu-Ray has won the HD disc format war, and there are a lot of consumers who don't spend every waking hour on the internet deb...
Maybe they heard the talk across the internet and wanted to offset the other top-heavy characters?
BTW, I just LOVE that PS3 box art! So dark and sinister, and matches well with the PS3's color scheme.

Epic did it with UT: III, so I don't see why it isn't possible. It's not like it taxes the hardware any, and I would imagine that writing the support into the code isn't very hard. Then again, i'm not a programmer so what do I know? ;)
Look at how many damn comments this article has... and it's all over a TEASER of R2, with about 30 seconds total of real-time footage. I can only imagine what kind of reaction the actual gameplay footage will garner.

Personally, 720p is fine so long as they max out what is happening on screen and if they are going for 720p, I think they should shoot for 60fps. I think it would be a good evolution considering how smooth R1 ran despite being locked steady at 30fps.
Let's hope it's not another "RocketMen"...
LBP just oozes innovation and creativity, along with amazing physics and an excellent graphical touch. I hope for the sake of all videogaming that as many people buy this game as possible.
You know we are in a sad state of affairs right now when someone tries to argue that a game like Gears of War has more innovation than a "kiddie game" like LBP, simply because it's on a Sony console.
Good to see that both systems will be getting this game at the same time. I'll probably rent this to see how good it is, and if I like it, i'll buy it. I'm not expecting equality between the 360 and the PS3 versions, however. It's just expected this way...
Hopefully they release a demo over the PSN and XBL as well.
