They changed it from an open world game so that they could maintain the atmosphere and story driven experience that they were going for. The design choice had nothing to do with hardware limitations.
The only thing i don't understand is this: why would MS care to publish another AW game when they couldn't even be bothered to change the release date of the original so that it wouldn't coincide with RDR? I never understand that strategy.
To the people saying that AW isn't that great cuz it's "repetitive" but then defend Uncharted as being "innovative..." ....LOL! hypocrites.

It's complete wishful thinking. There isn't a chance in hell GT6 would be a launch title. Even if they "confirmed" it was now, it would get delayed for at least 2 years. A better bet would be to expect Last Guardian to be a launch title..

Half Life 2 is definitely my choice for GOTD as well. Probably my favorite game of all time. Although StarCraft would definitely be in the running.
They are disagreeing because the first comment said Last of Us is GOTY and they don't agree that GTA 5 will beat it.
Frankly, I think it takes a pretty small minded to decide on GOTY for a year that hasn't started and games you haven't played. But, then again, N4G isn't really renowned for the maturity of its community.

EDIT: nm, figured it out. If anyone else was having this trouble, the save files are in C:\programdata\orbit\46
make sure you enable viewing of hidden folders first.
Killzone 2 and 3 don't even come close to that original 2005 video. The fact that so many people (in a certain group within the community) really makes me realize that most people don't have a clue what they are talking about and I have no reason to take anything said in these comment sections seriously.
