You lost "respect for Sessler" because he expressed a valid criticism?

lol, who's the drama queen?

articulate, intelligent thinkers are not welcome on n4g.

100k downloaded it because it's free. in the second week, 90k will have played it once and never come back. 9k will play it for a week then quit. MAYBE 1k will play it for a few weeks.

it's just not a good MP. the people that want to play it are mostly going to be people that paid for it. personally, i played the beta for a week, then never had any desire to play it when i bought the retail game. didn't even bother getting the trophy for playing one round.

47" 3D television. I'm quite sure we played the same game. I just have standards that extend beyond "OMG, ND is so amazing *drool*"

I think they are the most overrated developer in the industry and I think the same thing about the UC franchise.

I have had better TPS experiences in many other games, I've had better story experiences in nearly every game that has a story, and I've seen more memorable side-characters than the main ch...

The only thing UC3 ruined was the UC franchise. Not that it was ever anything terribly good, but at least it wasn't boring. What was UC3 aside from a competent cover-based shooter that was marred by sub-par set pieces, a regurgitated story (from UC2), cliche plot, and one-dimensional characters?

If UC1 was a fastfood burger, UC2 was the same burger without the cheese, and UC 3 was just a soggy bun that was fished out of the dumpster.

My point is that they aren't mutually exclusive, and that art is subjective.

Thanks for your absolutely irrelevant response.

The movies that do best at the boxoffice don't have anything in them that resembles art.

That will be the future of gaming.

I honestly thought that the Vita was going to be Sony's next system. Sort of a side-grade from PS3, but completely portal. If they had poured more money into it, and charged a bit more, I think it would have been successful.

Within 5 years, cell phones will do this. And they'll be more powerful than 3DS and Vita.

This comment confuses me. Isn't that how most shooters are?

you're out of your mind. Comparing a company the pushes innovation (valve) to a company that churns out the same crap we've seen over n over (ND) is an absolute joke.

Uncharted games are popcorn games. Something you can sit down and kind of enjoy for 6-8 hours (except the first one which takes about 5) then forget about. Uninspired puzzles that solve themselves and require 0 intelligence, 3rd person cover shooting, generic, one-dimensional villains, laughable AI th...

WTH do you mean above that? They are above Valve? Give me a break. There are plenty of games in this style, as well.

It's so difficult to get in any way excited for a ND game when so many people on n4g constantly over-hype and overpraise everything they do.

"they're above that." "i put them on a pedestal for absolutely NO reason."

Left 4 Dead 2 still scares the hell out of me. I just don't think most developers are capable of recreating the magic that's in that game.

The route they're going is definitely the safer, more obvious one. And, ultimately, probably better for a developer like ND.

Until reading this article, I didn't know anyone that thought it was just going to be a zombie shoot-em-up.

It was pretty obvious from the original demo that this was basically Uncharted with fewer bullets and a lot more scavenging. Even Uncharted ended up having monsters which played a role but weren't the focus of the story.

I am just worried it's going to be as linear and as scripted as Uncharted. A survival game like this should have more re...

You do realize everything you're saying is exactly what people were saying at the beginning of this generation, right? Over time, the hardware will inevitably have limitations.

actually, that's not what he says. what he says is that they are using common tricks to make it look good, but many other games use the same tricks. and in some cases, a lot better.

"Maybe the person who titled this video and article shouldn't have made it look like flamebait."

maybe YOU should stop taking any minor criticism of PS so damn seriously.

You didn't invent gaming and you don't make playstation. stop being a child and acting like you're going through some hardship because people criticize the system.

although, really, very few ppl criticize the system, what they do is criticize the blind fanboyism that is related to it.

as for the people crying about this video...get over it. you all act like you're members of the SDF. here's proof that the new killzone isn't nearly a...

NOTHING about this next generation justifies a price increase except for inflation.

Mo-cap, voice acting, music are already in place. The only leap is graphics...which is actually easier to do with new engines. Prices should actually come down.

THINK!
