Glad to see they're keeping things old-school and developing on PC first. That just solidifies how legitimate this game is going to be, it'll be what AVP 2 should have been and more. Excellent decision bringing back Rebellion, they made the original and it was by far the best of the two.
AVP 2 had good multiplayer but the campaign was weak, the graphics were cartoony and the gore was toned down compared to AVP. (No disc cutting in half, no spear-gunning limbs/heads to walls, e...
Flashpoint Devs are right 100%.
COD4's arcadey run and gun with no gore (except one scripted sequence), extremely linear level design and canned death animations vs. Dragon Rising's realisitc, loud tactical shootouts with gore, ragdoll, and an open world.
If MW is a Michael Bay movie then Dragon Rising is a Michael Mann film (Pre-Miami Vice).
I've always preferred Rainbow Six Vegas over COD4 simply for its gameplay, I like tactical Heat-style shootouts much more than arcadey run and gun. This game looks to be a combination of Vegas, OP Flashpoint/Arma, and a hard Mature version of Bad Company. Its a free roaming FPS with indoor and outdoor shootouts, non-scripted AI, destructible enviornments and gore. Sounds perfect to me.
If nothing else the single player will be twice as long (if not more) and nowhere near as res...
I'm with you zagibu, Half Life 2 is solid but not excellent. Way too many "antlions", mediocre/repetitive driving sequences, and not enough shootouts with PEOPLE. (I got so sick of shooting headcrabs and antlions over and over.) Plus the gravity gun was such an unneccessary gimmick, they clearly just wanted to show off their new physics/engine.
The best part about the game was City 17 and nowhere near enough time was spent there. It seems to me like Valve focused much...
A remake of this would be excellent, a sequel could be even better if its from the original dev team.
I just hope Jaffe is working on Twisted Metal Black 2. Then we'll finally start getting some next gen updates of PS2 classics.
There's a world of difference between Rockstar/Microsoft charging for The Lost and Damned which was an entirely new CAMPAIGN vs. Sony giving away some short challenge map.
Even if it had been Sony that dropped $50 million for exclusivity you can bet that they wouldn't be giving away the IV DLC.
That said I'm getting real sick of this "DLC exclusivity" bullshit. Dual console owners like myself realize that its just a ploy for the cheap fanboys who can o...
I stopped reading the second he called Red Faction "a largely disappointing FPS".
I think its the complete opposite. I was heavily down with this game UNTIL they changed the art style. It could have been a realistic/serious Road Warrior style post apocalyptic FPS but they ruined it. And for what?
Now it looks like some childish, generic cel shaded FPS with ridiculous looking characters. If I wanted my shooters to look like children's games I would've bought a Wii.
This is the first time I've really been disappointed with Gearbox.
Articles like this are completely useless. The guy hasn't even played EITHER game. Why would anyone possibly care what he has to say?
Regardless, Prototype and Infamous are both great games. Infamous may be the more technically polished of the two but they're both excellent. Prototype gets points for extreme gore, hard Mature story, power variety, vehicles, etc.
And Leon S you ARE a joke. Saying Proto is a horrible game and that some soft, generic, terribly revie...
This movie needs to be either a direct remake of Gears 1 or something during the Pendulum Wars. I don't know how much faith I have in Wiseman in general let alone for something like this. If it isn't a Hard R it'll be nothing more than "summer-blockbuster" trash.
What if they decide to go Die Hard 4 status and make it PG13 to get more ticket sales? If they did it for a Die Hard sequel years in the making its not impossible. Just putting that out there.

They should do Vietnam no question.
If they did Nam with the same level of gore/violence/mature dialogue that World at War had it could be one of the greatest.
Perfect Dark 2 will only be great if its like the original, Perfect Dark Zero was garbage. The cartoony graphics, mediocre gameplay and lack of polish really ruined it for me eventhough the first is an all time classic. The only positive thing I could say about PD Zero is that it had bots.
Whats happened to Rare? Did they lose a lot of their best team members? Just look at Zero, Kameo and the new Banjo and tell me there's not a huge drop in overall quality.
They really n...
Both Shenmues are the definition of cinematic, it would be a mistake to make 3 on PSP only. (Unless its the only way we'll ever play it)
I know there was originally supposed to be something like 17 chapters of Shenmue, but Sega really just needs to go Rome status and condense all of the story into the third game. Then we can finally get some closure.
I just hope Yakuza 3 comes to the States before anything, the game is already made just translate it already! A gr...
"Rockstar North and the Housers (the main team) are working on Agent."
If thats true then its gonna be one hell of a game.
The game looks great, but isn't a little ironic that the same devlopers who wouldn't even let you shoot dead bodies in the first Juarez are now considered "fearless" and "controversial"?
I thought Medal of Honor Pacific Assault on PC was the best in the series and Airborne was excellent as well.
No gamer who played the D Day sequence in Allied Assault when it was current (pre Call of Duty) could say he didn't enjoy it.
Looks good but what's with the El Matador style setting? I wish they would've stuck with gritty urban levels like the first two and just moved it across the coast to L.A., Vegas or somewhere similar.
That said the graphics and guns look much better than expected; I just hope the dev team responsible for Bully can handle making a legit action game.
I didn't know the series existed until I scooped up Black Plague for $10 at Best Buy. Great survival horror, it reminds me of a cross between Condemned Criminal Origins and Call of Cthulhu Dark Corners of the Earth.
The physics in Black Plague are excellent along with the story, sound, graphics and most importantly the atmosphere. The gameplay is tension heavy survival-horror with Resident Evil 1 style puzzles. Theres not a lot of actual combat (which I thought would be a prob...
Good, glad to see a dev focusing only on single-player for once. There's way too much emphasis on MP these days, SP campaigns were always the most important part of games up until the last couple of years. Now we get 5-6 hour campaigns instead of 10-15 hours all because the devs were working on the multi.
Doesn't hurt that this game looks excellent either.
