Been looking forward to this since the first announcement, can't wait. Frontlines Fuel of War was a more than solid FPS with great scale (huge battles, large levels, etc.) and this game looks like a much better, more intense, darker and more violent version. Here's hoping its M. The destructible environments look amazing and having shootouts in suburban streets/residential neighborhoods is going to be amazing.
It doesn't hurt that Frontlines had some of the loud...
No Breakfast, thats not the way it is and thats not the way it should ever be. You want to tell me that no one buys games for single player anymore? Let me tell YOU a couple or three things: Forget Bioshock 1&2. Forget Just Cause 2. Forget Prototype. Forget Dead Space.
In real life: Single player campaigns are an extremely important part of every game and some of the best games of all time are SP only or have long campaigns with sequences not possible in multi. Bulls**t...
I thought this was going to be about Chinese Starcraft players having Scanners style head explosions after marathoning for 72+ hours. THAT would be a video game injury getting "Real".
But in reality this article is another mistake. Who green lights these? Let it DIE.
At this point there shouldn't be any doubt. How/why does this article exist?
Regardless of whether or not it actually wins game of the year are you fu**ing kidding me that the je#koff who wrote this article is actually questioning whether or not Red Dead is even a contender?
Besides, the only other game in 2010 that could truly be game of the year is Mafia II in August. As great as games like Max Payne 3, Dead Rising 2 and Crackdown 2 will be, those a...
Besides Duke Nukem Forever, the only other games that NEED to be on a list like this are Fear Effect Inferno, Eight Days, Redwood Falls, B.C., the sequel to Turok (2008), and Getaway 3. Now those had potential.
This is a complete waste and this game will only be dragged down hard because of her involvement. Why would some broad who wears crazy makeup and makes terrible pop music have any relation/relevance to a Mature FPS? What a joke.
Bodycount has the potential to be legitimate if the devs step up where Criterion didn't and add blood/gore/etc. The lack of blood was the only real flaw of Black besides its length, and it made even less sense that it was sterile considering the game wa...
This is a tragedy. I thought after all this time we would finally be getting a Manhunt 3 announcement, not an article saying its basically cancelled. This is an excellent series that would truly shine next-gen if it was done right. Like Treeson47 said, the first Manhunt is an all time classic and the second is still legitimate even if it wasn't on the same level. Manhunt 3 has the potential to be the best of the series, especially if its open world Carcer City and they bring back Cash or make...
Earth Defense Force was great. The Coop was done well and the sense of scale in the game was amazing. The buildings/robots/ships/explosi ons/aliens were all huge and there were hundreds of guns. It was lower budget sure but thats all the more reason to give it the respect it deserves considering what they accomplished.
And sorry Cylon, but you don't know what they hell you're talking about. You say the games on the list are bad and then you talk about the new Banjo Kazooie bein...
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! SpecForce was extremely legitimate, I couldn't wait for the next Chrome and this has been "in development" for years. (Duke Nukem Forever Syndrome) The worst part is this would've been on Techland's new engine so it would've looked amazing. I love throwback PC exclusive FPSs from PC developers. WHY ARE THEY CANCELLING IT!? For a f#**ing racing game? ARE YOU F**#ING KIDDING ME?!
I'm with you Shifty. I've been waiting for Dead Island, Chrome 2 and Warhound for literally years. I enjoyed/was happy to support Juarez Bound in Blood and I remember reading an article that it sold pretty well overall yet Techland still hasn't said or done anything since.
Why would they work on any other game? Dead Island and Warhound are both promising new shooters that have the potential to have sequels. Chrome 2 is already a sequel to an established series, (Chrome was soli...
Yeah, games can absolutely still be good without "blood, swear words or violence" Take Uncharted 2, Kill.Switch, Medal of Honor Pacific Assault, Everything or Nothing, etc. But the point is that anything with violence would be better if it was rated M. Tell me that all of those shooters wouldn't have been more legitimate with blood splatter, dismemberment and language. Imagine blood pools in the snow in Uncharted 2, how that would look. Or if the enemies were yelling Rainbow Vegas s...
Alan Wake could've been comprable story wise/character wise until Remedy ruined it and made it a soft Teen. How are you going to redefine the survival horror genre when you don't even have any gore or language? How can you have characters acting realistically when they can't even swear in life and death situations? How are you going to have a good atmosphere or intimidating enemies with no gore/serious violence? Heavy Rain could've had better blood but other than that the characters/story/dia...
Dylantalon1 you don't know what you're talking about. Better on a technological level? How? And then you compare Conviction to T rated Alan Wake which isn't even the same genre. Conviction's graphics are excellent and so is the gameplay. Anyone whose played any of the Splinter Cells pre-Double Agent knows that Conviction is the true sequel to Chaos Theory. Its the perfect mix of classic Splinter Cell and a hard mature version of what the Bourne Conspiracy should have been.
Atrocious: Exceptionally bad, abominable, horrible. The only time it means "wicked, shocking or brutal" is if you're talking about a crime/something that happened. Brutal or shocking would've made more sense. The only reason I mentioned it is because starting a review with atrocious would usually mean that the game is complete garbage (Ex. Rogue Warrior) but then they give it a 9. Poor choice of words.
Do these people not know what atrocious means? If it got a 9/10 that word shouldn't be anywhere near this review. I should've known not to expect much credibility or intelligence from anything with spanish in the name of the website.
I'm a huge fan of the Yakuza series and I honestly couldn't care less about losing the "hostess" side quests. As long as all the side missions with combat are all still there then what does it really matter? I love Yakuza 1 and 2 and played them both heavy but I never went into any of the Cabaret clubs unless it was part of a mission. Sega is right, it really is a Japanese thing that doesn't translate well to the States. It's not like they're strip clubs, there isn't even any nudity...
If it isn't Twisted Metal than it better be a next-gen Syphon Filter. Otherwise who cares? Starhawk? C'mon.
This article is a joke. Whoever wrote it needs to die a death.
I agree with Treeson47. The only better/equal GTA than a futuristic Fifth/Element, Judge Dredd style metropolis with flying cars, vertical traffic and Euphoria 2.0 Would be a true next gen sequel to Vice City.
And its been said already but Yakuza takes care of Japan and The Getaway takes care of London. The next GTA has to either stay in the U.S. or go Futuristic. There can be no other locations. Brazil would be a joke, so would New Orleans. Suggestions like these are just from...
Thats B.S. VengenceE999. The reason Red Dead gets a pass for glitches is not only because of the quality of the game, but the length of the campagin, size of the world, graphics, multi, etc. Lost Planet 2 is linear, arcadey and relatively short so it deserves to be criticized much more harshly if its as unfinished, buggy and average as the reviews make it out to be.
And stop with the "stop being sheep" trash. I hear that everytime a game gets slammed in reviews. D...
