Don't you think it's funny that all reputed reviewers think about the game in exactly the same way? JS
Because most modern games in the same genre are crap? I guess?
Sees the comment section and thinks to self
"If a medium does not innovate, how does it push forward. No wonder games like Assassin's Creed and COD sell so well. Who needs innovation when developers can charge a premium for little pushes in tech and put most of the budget in marketing than making the goddamn game. No wonder we don't see innovative titles. When gamers don't want tasty stuff why serve them tasty stuff, just keep the bland food on loop"
There are quite a few this time lol
9th review I have seen the same complain. The only difference is that only 4 of those reviews have given it somewhere around this score (5-7.5). Is it really that deal breaking?
Not really trusting Sterling after his review of Watch Dogs 2 tbh.... Was a follower before then. After I got burnt bad by Watch Dogs 2 ;-;
Not really a great example when a critic was in IGN. But I'll have a look at his other reviews before agreeing with him.
I agree with you. And today setting the benchmark means nothing. The attention span of gamers is so les, that a good game will come along, they forget it and go on to the next thing. And I have seen so many wannabe gamers call out classics like Zelda, Deus Ex, Half Life etc and knowning toe deep abut them, it's not even funny. And media sites becoming more PR sites does not help in that either.
Also no, I have not seen one review praising this game's narrative. I have mostly seen great gameplay, decent characters, decent narrative and most of the reviews I have seen say that the game is not genre defining or such, but it is a pretty good game and any player can expect at least 30 hours of pure fun.
Oh sorry, I meant to say, don't lump together side quests of FarCry with Witcher 3. They are leagues apart in terms of sheer quantity as well as quality.
Don't even compare the side quests of FarCry with side quests of Witcher 3. The quality of Witcher 3's side quests is light years ahead of FarCry. (Also FarCry is crap tbh as an overall game)
Well, I don't agree with the score tbh.... You haven't talked about the gameplay much. But your points like- bland side quests, repetitive missions, lacklustre story, I have seen in 3-5 reviews. Still a score of 5/10 is not justified. At least 7-8/10.
As I have said, a game that serves the part of the community with the lowest intellect and attention span can never be dead.
Sure. Implode at the mediocrity of what they have been making for years and we (Core gamers) will go nuts because of the same old shit wondering why people keep buying this sh*t repeatedly over the years while good games sell like crap and get shelved.
You got it all mixed up. I saw someone say that Wii sold 4 mn Zelda sold on a 100 mn install base and then compared it to something like Uncharted which has almost no gameplay depth and is for the most casual crowd out there. Of course bigger install base increases the probability of more sales. But tell me why COD sells the most on PS4 and yet a good game like The Last Guardian (Albeit flawed) sells like 1/10th to 1/20th of that. This shows that the casual crowd is huge, not just on PS4, but...
And this my friends, is how today's media creates unnecessary and artificial hype. I have not played either, but I can pretty much ascertain that they are both different kinds of games. Both have their own appeal and will be interesting.
PS- To those comparing sales, really? If sales are very high, it just means that the game attracts casual crowd, because well, tadaa I present to your eyes that COD sells much more than any game every year. Core games sell less, because...
There is a refund button on Steam, you can test out a game if it runs properly or not an return it within 2 hours (Enough to test a game). Stop giving lame excuses to justify piracy.
And media sites supporting them like this will make the average people who do not delve deep into gaming more accustomed to Season Passes. No it is not here to stay, you are spreading the agenda that it has to stay. GG
I was? I don't remember about being skeptical about anything but Spiderman becoming a shitty exclusive. Most of the others I do not care about, because honestly I have gotten a PS4 for the games I am interested in- Nioh, Persona 5 and maybe Horizon Zero Dawn after I see some honest reviews.
