PC is a different market tbh.... And while there is as big a crowd for these qualityAAA games (Like Witcher 3 and Dark Souls), it isn't a platform limited by 'singlep player games' or any specific type. PC has such a big community, which can't just be classified among gamers. It has modders, hardware enthusiasts, esports etc etc... Can't really compare it to consoles. It's just too big in scope.

Been a gamer for about 10 years now and I am gravitating towards Nintendo simply because they have fun gameplay. At the end of the day, I like the core of gaming which is an interactive medium. I don't need some highly detailed wrinkles on some character and don't want cut scenes or QTEs or set pieces which reduce control of the player. Getting a Switch this October to play BOTW and Mario simply because they have so much gameplay freedom.

That's also true sadly, but from what I remember, someone at Ubisoft did hint at Witcher 3 similarities and the fanboys took it up and are writing fullblown articles on it.
Ubisoft knows that it'll get clicks because Witcher 3 is a good game and is using Witcher's name to get it's product into hype. Still not buying Ubi, sure won't have the finesse of Witcher 3 and sure as hell isn't as pretty looking... Those characters look godawfully bad.
I doubt that a third party indie developer would ever skip PS4 entirely.
I am not sure how good an idea this is, but I would love Dontnod to work on Remember Me 2 with Platinum Games. Look at what they did with Nier: Automata, easily in my top 10 games this gen. Remember Me was a unique game and I am pretty sure with Platinum Combat it'll be taken to new heights, though their collaboration with Platinum Games is highly unlikely.

Of course, they also make stories around set pieces, so can't expect much else.
Umm..... There is a difference between best and good..... Mass Effect is OK, even after the technical fixes, but is coming nowhere near what Persona 5, Nier Automata, Zelda, Nioh, Prey etc are achieving.

Yeah I agree, but tbh.... That's mostly the western side of the AAA market for how generic it has become. Apart from Witcher 3 and Prey (Albeit not as good as Witcher 3), I don't remember any other game that I formed a memory with. But 2017 was pretty good with Persona 5, Nioh, Nier Automata, Yakuza 0 and these games I ain't forgetting anytime soon. The only next western games I am waiting for are Cyberpunk 2077 and System Shock 3
