True, MARVEL has a more well rounded roster, but SUPERMAN and BATMAN are still the two largest commodities as far as Heroes go.

If you're savy enough to require a PS3, and manage to use all of its wonderfull features, I'd be willing to bet you could figure out how to hook up multiple systems. An AV selector box is like $19.99 at FutureShop.
And if you're "just getting into gaming now" its unlikely that you'd be buying a PS3 for last gen's games, and even unlikelier that you'd care about the upscaling differences.

Honestly, the PS2 was the most bang for your buck for the better part of the last 7 years. If you wanted to play PS2 games, you'd already own a PS2. If you do already own a PS2, then whats wrong with playing your PS2 games on it?

The four I mentioned are the big four indeed (Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, Flash) that everyone thinks about foremost, but there is also:
WonderWoman, Martian Manhunter, Aquaman, Nightwing/Robin, Hawkman, FireStorm, Green Arrow, Raven, Batgirl, Catwoman and so forth. Seriously though, the Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Flash foursome is pretty strong.
Seriously, these 4 hour campaign modes are rubbish.
It seems like quality is suffering because devs are trying to do both campaign modes and online multiplayers at the same time, and more often than not this leaves the campaign mode feeling incomplete or short and the online portion almost a throw in at times.
Developers need to decide if they're interested in making an engaging and rewarding story based game, or if they're more interested in making a complete online...
Look, "Gears of War" is a fantastic game, but as a PS3 owner, a port of "Gears" would be overkill; I'm already happy enough in the sci-fi shooter department with the sequels to "Resistance" and "Killzone" on the way.
Now that "Bioshock" is officially PS3 bound, "Mass Effect" and "Lost Odyssey" remain the only 360 exclusives that I'd be interested in getting.

The difference this generation for Sony was that they couldn't just concentrate on the games side at first; they had the whole BluRay format war to fight.
It may have looked like they were "humbled" to some people, but they did what they had to do as a company, not just for 2007 but for 2008-2015.
Had Sony rushed the PS3 out at a cheaper price but without a standard BluRay drive, they might have sold a few more systems initially, but they also may have lost...

plus, Halo has become like Mario; doesn't matter how good the game is or isn't, if its got the "Halo" name, it'll sell a tone. (not saying it doesn't deserve it, just pointing out this will be another top selling based on pre-orders alone)
