No.
Many of the multiplats like Oblivion, CoD4, DMC4 and GTA4 play and look fantastic on the PS3.
The 360 didn't run "Bully" smoothly and thats an old PS2 title.
Simply put, sometimes devs get lazy.
Much respect, but personally speaking I couldn't really care less if the early PS3 multiplats were inferior for 3 key reasons:
1) I bought my PS3 for exclusives like Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid, Socom, God of War, Killzone2, Gran Turismo and such. While its frustrating to get some weaker ports early on, it wouldn't have affected my system preference.
2) Those weak early ports were mostly due to the inexperience with the PS3, but that is changing. The more recent ...
same here.
CURRENTLY, I OWN THE FOLLOWING MULTIPLATS:
- Grand Theft Auto IV
- Call of Duty 4
- Rainbow Six Vegas
- Rainbow Six Vegas 2
- Lost Planet
- Oblivion
- HL2:OrangeBox
- Medal of Honor Airborne
- Fear
- Dark Sector
Maybe I've just got the right patches?
Maybe I've just got one of those magical PS3s?
But they all seem to play fine.
I'm not saying there aren't any differences, ...
....useless fanwar fodder.
None of these studies ever include migration factors (people who will move from PS2-PS3) nor do they discuss shelflife or product lifecycles.
This just in, more people were also playing 360 than PS3 in 2006! (PS3 wasn't out yet)
Jeebus, could we get a more pointless article?
The 360 controller has a terrible D-Pad, is unnecessarily heavy and bulkier, and those top shoulder buttons are horrid. Throw in the fact that it doesn't even come complete (you need to pay extra for battery packs and charge kits) and you've got a very lackluster controller.
Dude, the movies being dead eons ago was exactly my point; had the PSP not bothered with that, they'd probably seem to have more of a direction from the mindset of the devs.
Seriously, 90% of the griping and moaning about install times seems to be coming from 360 fanboys looking to complain about a system they don't own.
If you're too impatient to wait a few minutes for an install perhaps you should find yourself a used SNES somewhere.
I don't care if it takes a few minutes. So do all the clips, trailers, demos and everything else I download or install.
And if I go back to playing an old game a few months/years down the roa...
Sure, I could learn to play guitar instead of playing Guitar Hero.
I could also steel a real car instead of playing Grand Theft Auto.
I could also join the marines instead of playing Socom.
The point is, very few people who play RockBand or Guitar Hero have any misguided delusions that they are actually playing anything other than a toy.
I don't want to spend ten years learning to play guitar for real.
I do want to spend half an hour fooling around ...
But these are my favorite and least favorite controllers:
FAVORITE CONTROLLERS:
1. SNES
2. PSoneAnalog/DualShock2/DualSho ck3 (same design)
3. GameCube standard controller
LEAST FAVORITE CONTROLLERS:
1. Wiimote
2. N64
3. Anything by Atari (2600, 5200, 7200...)
I can see both sides of the coin on this one; the PSP is clearly a powerfull handheld capable of fantastic graphics, but I agree that sony bothered with too much extras.
Focus on the games. The portable movies are pointless in my personal opinion, and of the people I know with PSPs, most don't use it for anything other than games. I'm sure there are folks who use the various features, but they don't seem to be a concearn to the average handheld gamer.
Prior to this article, neither PS3 nor 360 fans were making much of a fuss over this title, let alone even talking about it.
Nobody cared that "Tiberium Wars" didn't come to PS3.
Nobody cared that "Battle for Middle Earth" didn't come to PS3.
So why do we need "Red Alert"?
RTS titles play better on PC and cater to a niche market audience, which is probably why this title was pulled, and if this is such a huge and crushing los...
JASON360
Prior to this article, nobody was talking about "Red Alert".
Not even the 360 camp.
You'll make a big deal now because you think we care.
We don't.
But hey, now that you have "Red Alert" you can stop using "Banjo" as your coveted upcoming exclusive, LMFAO.
Actually, taking the time to get things right is the nature of the PS3.
Games get cancelled all the time, for every system.
Some will never come out.
Some are just postponed.
Some will show up in other forms.
Some others will show up on a future/different platform.
Thus in the nature of the business.
Once upon a time I gave a shop $5 to pre-order "StarCraft Ghost", LOL
Fair enough, but I'd have to personally disagree with that.
I'm not saying there aren't examples of fun/interesting discount priced titles, but they are generally the exception to the rule, and even when they're decent, they still tend to be smaller titles that don't offer up as much lasting appeal.
Again, no need to throw out examples of the good ones, I know there are some, I'm just pointing out that there are far more not-so-good ones.
There is a rea...
Agreed.
If "HAZE" had been a launch title like the 360's "Perfect Dark Zero" or "Prey" it would have been either forgiven or forgotten, or both.
so the PS3 gained "BioShock" and lost "Red Alert"?
Groovy!
C&C Red Alert?
The Getaway?
Eight Days?
Do you honestly think those were the top titles we were waiting for?
Oh no, you mean "Red Alert" won't be on the PS3?
Whatever shall I do?
How will I move on?
What on earth will I play?
Oh, wait....
I'll just buy "Metal Gear Solid 4", "Resistance2", "Killzone2", "Final Fantasy XIII", "SOCOM", "Fallout3" and...
Show of hands.....how many PS3 owners were concentrating on "Red Alert"?
Honestly now, you can have Halo Wars and Command & Conquer all to yourself, I couldn't care less. RTS titles are rubbish on consoles, and if I really wanted to play them, I'll pick them up for my PC.
Has it really come down to this GIANT ENEMY CRAB?
LOL, with "Metal Gear Solid 4" averaging 9.5+ all across the board you've resorted to praising niche market RTS title...
But if I wanted to play a bunch of $20 shovelware games I'd own a Wii.
NOTE: I'm not saying the Wii doesn't have AA games, just pointing out it has tones of $20-30 games on the shelves if thats what people want to play.
Wasn't it just yesterday the 360 camp was running their mouth about "Getaway" and "Red Alert" being delayed?
Wasn't the DLC for GTA4 part of the fantastic 2008 360 experience?
Where are all those clever "WaitBEYOND" comments now?
Karma sucks eh?
