It seems that more than a couple of people are having at least some kind of issue with the 190 series drivers. Don't know why. The best driver at the moment in both performance and stability is 182.50. No WDDM 1.1 in Windows 7, though.
Yes, it is a very good game. The gameplay is unique and well-done--it has some of the best melee I've seen in a game--and the graphics are incredible for an indie game. The "gunplay" is pretty standard, though, and it isn't too prominently featured in the game so I think 'melee brawler' would be more appropriate.
The people who say PC is outrageously expensive are just repeating what other people tell them. They don't actually do the research into how much a PC actually costs. If you do do the research and build your own computer, you can assemble a nice gaming system, excluding monitor, for around $600. You won't be maxing out games like Crysis or Cryostasis, but you will be able to play the majority of games on high.
You don't have to continuously upgrade the parts if you don't want to....
Blizzard games have historically not been very hardware intensive. Your laptop should be able to run it at least in some form. You'll probably have a new computer by the time Diablo 3 ships anyway.
Hey, Vista's not bad after you install the service packs. Windows 7 is a big upgrade over Vista, though.
