But most publishers are all about the bottom line now. Their mentality is that, if a high budget game doesn't sell a couple million copies, there's no point in making it. Shooters sell well, and I guess that's why they made X-COM a shooter, sad as it may be.
I really wanted a modern X-COM game. :(
The closest modern game to Deus Ex, I would say, is S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
The first Deus Ex had multiplayer.
But I like that Deus Ex: Human Revolution is not going to have MP. Single-player is what makes the first Deus Ex one of the greatest games ever made.
Yes, Nova is a part of the story.
Blizzard's cinematic team is fucking brilliant.
Wait, aren't Sony still selling PS3s at a loss?
If they're willing to cut the price by a $100, then that must mean that they have absolute confidence in the quality of their software. I'd say that's a good thing.
Samsung manufactures the RAM and processor in Apple's iPhones. Read: manufacture, not design. Intrinsity, which was purchased by Apple a couple months ago, designed the A4 processor; Samsung manufactures it.
Even if they lose, they still win.
Samsung's Super AMOLED is better than Apple's IPS display in most regards. Contrast, black levels, viewing angles, outdoor performance in sunlight, colors -- all better on Super AMOLED. One thing that Apple's display does better is sharpness due in part to its 960x640 resolution.
No, that's not how it worked.
70% of the 1,000 wanted Red Dead Redemption. The other 30% wanted other games -- for example, 4% wanted Alan Wake. Read the article.
Seems like an expensive test.
The primary announcement will be a game, probably Half-Life 3, and that game will be built on Source Engine 2, so I think E3 is fine for this kind of announcement.
Obviously a game will be built with the engine.
His comparison to T-Mobile's Sidekick data loss to Steam's Cloud doesn't work.
The Sidekick stores almost all data in the cloud while Steam saves games both locally and to the cloud, so you have redundancy.
Also, wtf at this.
"It doesn’t even stop there, imagine if they pull a T-Mobile and lose the hundreds of dollars you’ve invested in games on your account..."
The Sidekick's problem was that Microsoft/Danger weren...
Unfortunately, the first model will have a small screen. Either the technology, parallax 3D I think it's called, doesn't work well with larger screens yet or larger screens are cost prohibitive. Later models could have larger screens like with the DS.
If it uses NVIDIA's Tegra 2, it should be able to output some very nice graphics. However, it will not be HD.
One of the creators of DotA is leading a team at Valve... I think it would be totally awesome if Valve unveiled an FPS-RTS at E3.
I doubt it's PC exclusive. Let's just hope it has PC-type gameplay.
I predict Episode Three plus two brand new games.
It won't be L4D3. Gabe Newell said in an interview on GameSpot that it will be at least 3 years before Left 4 Dead 3 releases. So, at the soonest, Left 4 Dead 3 will release in 2012.
First major game in 3D? Hardly.
There are HUNDREDS of major games that can be played in 3D already.
Look for yourself.
