16 players in an RTS (or, in World in Conflict's case, an RTT) is considered large-scale.
I wonder if the console versions are going to get extra content, since they're getting their own subtitle.
FakeFactory's Cinematic Mod is mainly a texture upgrade mod with some added cinematic music and model modifications. The latest version adds a type of bloom tonemapping that simulates HDR.
The mod comes with a tool to switch Alyx's skin. You can use the original if you'd like, but the mod comes with numerous custom skins.
Seems a little too run-n-gun, "Rambo"-esque.
Firefox 3 Beta 4 scores a 68/100 on the Acid3 test.
I've been using Service Pack 3 (RC1 and 2) for several months now and it works fine.
Capcom is milking RE4 for all it's worth, eh?
Those two points you mentioned are fairly basic graphical effects.
The first is a change in shaders and the second is a change in model to physics objects.
Ah, so I was correct in guessing that it was a scene demo.
The demoscene puts out some really impressive stuff.
It's the game's HDR. Polyphony decided to really overdo the HDR to make it more "realistic", but I find it detrimental to gameplay since, well, it's hard to see when everything is dark. I often find myself bumping into cars because of the extreme contrast when I play Gran Turismo 5: Prolgue.
XNA is maybe more streamlined, but if you're developing for the 360, you're more restricted by the XNA framework.
Is this a scene demo?
I ask this because it's a demo scene website.
If it is a scene demo, then it probably looks so good because of the Cell in the PS3. Demos, to be so small in size, use a lot of procedural processing which relies heavily on CPU power.
Looking at the screenshots again, it looks a lot like a scene demo.
Uh, no...
StarCraft was originally going to be a Warhammer game, which is why StarCraft's races are so similar to Warhammer's.
"Update: We hate to be the bearers of bad news but we've already heard that things might not be so optimistic for such an early release. Sources tell us that there still might be some show-stopping issues with SP3 that could prevent it from staying stable (and thus seeing immediate rollout). We'll be watching, as always."
I hate it when people abuse our legal system. People think they can sue for anything.
Yeah... I don't think the PS2 can produce these kinds of graphics.
Does anybody else think that the explosions in this game are a bit too over-the-top? I mean, god damn, those explosions are friggin' huge.
The Internet.
It's rumored to release within the next week.
I'm using XP SP3 RC2 (close to final version) right now and it runs great. Some things don't work such as my mouse poll rate changer (since it doesn't recognize the SP3 version name), but pretty much everything else works fine. I've noticed a decent increase in speed and stability is pretty much the same. The only crash I've had was when I repeatedly inserted and pulled out a USB thumb drive from the USB port on my chassis' front pane...
I look forward to mid-April. :D
Team Fortress 2, when played with a good community, is one of the finest multiplayer experiences to be had.
