I thought Gears of War was merely an average game, so no PC version won't affect me.
This article is referring to driver 177.92.
NVIDIA releases new beta drivers about every week or two.
Official WHQLs come every couple months or every new graphics card release in order to support them.
Forge is basically a very simple map editor that just allows you to place objects... and is also playable in co-op.
It's not anything special.
Wow!
This is huge.
I thought that SLI would never hit Intel chipsets due to all the disputes between NVIDIA and Intel.
I've always hated how Unreal Engine 3 games look.
Personally, Valve-developed Source engine games look better.
Yeah, looks like Crytek un-suckified the multiplayer.
Crysis Wars actually looks really fun.
Now that's what I call action-movie-quality.
You have not explained why Burnout: Paradise is not suited for PC gamers.
I played Burnout: Paradise (PS3) on a monitor at it was beautiful. I had no trouble playing it at all. In fact, it was easier to play than on an SDTV (obviously). Should Burnout 1-4 have not been on consoles because they were available only in SD resolutions making things difficult to see? No. Should Burnout: Paradise have not been made for consoles because the majority of people still use SDTVs? No. So why...
The graphics aren't bad. They aren't really super awesomely good, but they're not bad.
Yup, it is.
"Since the version was a prerelease one, it could be that Crytek did not optimize it yet."
It's bamboo.
And this machine won't be able to do any serious gaming, unfortunately. It was built as a low-profile and low-cost desktop machine, and thus uses integrated graphics.
I went from COD4 (PS3) on a 30" SDTV to a 52" Samsung 7 series HDTV and I thought that it actually looked better on an SDTV. I played better on the SDTV as well, but I probably just had to get used to the HDTV. The blur of the SDTV masks COD4's low 600p resolution well, whereas a 1080p HDTV really brings out all of its flaws.
Most other games that run 720p or higher look fine, though.
Ooh, nice, they have Wolfmother.
There is a very disturbing lack of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky on that list.
I disagree with the platform recommendation on Psychonauts.
Psychonauts is free on the PC and plays very well with a gamepad.
They have improved the graphics quite a huge amount since they announced the game in early 2007.

One of the biggest graphic updates is...
Far Cry 2 GOTY, lol.
Be serious now. There's no way Far Cry 2 will be getting a GOTY award. I doubt it'll even receive a nomination.
titntin, people who build their own PC typically already own optical drives, keyboards, mice, a monitor, etc. But even if you don't have them, for whatever reason, optical drives, keyboards, and mice can be very cheap as long as you don't go for the extravagently high-tech-multi-config-162-but ton-pancake-cooking versions.
Using that rationale for consoles, would you have to factor in the TV with the console? If you did that, that would add in a couple hundred, therefore making y...
I wish the PSP supported SD cards, though. Sony's proprietary Memory Stick Pro Duos are expensive compared to SD. 4GB of SD is like $15 compared to $40 to $60 for 4GB of Pro Duo.
