I haven't played the 360 version, but the PC version is gorgeous at max settings.
No way is this a 9+ game.
The single-player is superior to COD4 gameplay-wise, although there is not as subversive a message underneath the mayhem and violence, but the multiplayer is pretty average.
It's actually one-and-one-half levels. The second half of Subway was cut off.
It was so that they wouldn't be bothered with additional bug reports for features that weren't intended to be in the demo.
Gah. I hope they don't delay it too much.
I thought Resistance 2 was 30 FPS.
I really wish publishers would stop putting those award stickers on their boxes, or at least put them on the back of the box instead of the front. It ruins the cover art.
I don't know. I think Valve's games look amazing. Graphically, Left 4 Dead looks better to me than, say, a Call of Duty: World at War or Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway.
I completed the single-player campaign today. I've gotta say, I'm pleasantly surprised. The campaign was much better than I expected. It felt like a 'classic' Call of Duty, which I liked, and the flamethrower is beastly.
But, to be honest, I'm not a big fan of the multiplayer.
Read the damn article.
It's about how the Unreal Engine 3 upgrades Gears of War 2 is bringing will help military simulators like America's Army be more immersive and realistic.
Left 4 Dead (and pretty much every other Valve game) don't use many keyboard keys. In L4D, on the keyboard, it's pretty just WASD, Ctrl to crouch, Spacebar to jump, E to use, Tab to show the scoreboard... and yeah, that's pretty much it. You'd need to have really small hands in order to have trouble playing this game.
Left 4 Dead has native 360 controller support.
Yeah, it gives more depth to everything. It looks far better than the previous high-res texture mods.
2009/2010.
Beta will be in 2009.
It does not.
This is one game where cross-platform play would actually work well, though, since it's mostly co-op. Valve said that they made cross-platform play with Team Fortress 2 in-house, although they've never shown it to the public, so I'm assuming cross-platform play for L4D would be totally possible.
The cons section does not equal everything that is poor with the game.
I'm pre-loading it now. :D
Then you best never go to McDonalds.
These prices aren't that amazing.
Circuit City a few months back had some REALLY cheap prices on games. I bought The Ship for $2, Darwinia for $4, Battlefield 2 Deluxe for $9, and they had other games like STALKER and SupCom: Forged Alliance for around $15.
Well, they pretty much always work on the multiplayer before the single-player. So, since they're starting to put more work into the single-player campaign, I'd say mid to late 2009 would be a possible release time frame.
