It's not BS at all. You can thank MS for not having to pay $10-15 a month to play popular games. https://www.destructoid.com...

True story that for some reason many people seem to want to forget...back before Games for Windows Live was a thing, many individual publishers were looking to charge a subscription for their games. WoW had come out a couple years later and Activision was looking to move Call of Duty to a subscription model also. EA was looking into the same for Battlefield. Mind you, this was all on PC only, because Microsoft was already handling it all on Xbox. So when Microsoft caught wind of this they ask...

How do you figure? They could have just launched the game with whatever fix it is they are working on right now and avoided the whole mess. It's not like QR disconnecting players is some secret and they should have planned for that.

"86 on Metacritic, when was the last time a FPS got that kind of metacritic rating?"

Well, Deathloop came out just a couple months ago and has an 88. So we didn't have to go back very far.

It says this all came about prior to release and that they had to abandon their trademark for the game's name. Something tells me if they really thought they were in trouble with using the name still even after that, they would have just changed the name prior to release. You would have to assume EA's legal team reviewed the situation in depth as well, considering they are the publisher of the title.

He's already said there will be no Activision involvement outside of the awards they were nominated for. I.E. there will be no Activision trailers or reveals.

Uhh what? They haven't shown they listen to their fanbase at all, because we complained about progression over 6 months ago during the flights and they still didn't change it. Now all they have done is make very minor changes to a system that needs a complete overhaul that wouldn't be hard to overhaul at all. People have complained about customization, simple things like colors being locked behind a paywall, over half the classic game modes missing from the game, over half the sea...

The difference is No Man Sky actually became a very good game a year later. Cyberpunk isn't trending as favorably.

They most likely own a design patent. Meaning they own the shape and look of the plates. This is why Dbrands new plates have a different shape to them.

Interesting to see some titles are coming back after being removed previously. Guess it's a testament that devs really are liking it even after a first contract with Microsoft. I wonder how a second contract with Microsoft works. Do returning downloaders lead to any revenue for the developers, or are they betting on the growth of Game Pass leading to enough unique downloaders to make it worth while. Interesting nonetheless.

Crazy to think that a lot of people who liked a game, want a very similar new game to enjoy three years later. Absolutely mad men over there at Microsoft.

It's an absolute stellar game, but I don't see how it can be considered underrated, let alone "severely" underrated. Everyone I know who likes these style of games has played and beaten the game. It got a 92 on OpenCritic with 96% of reviewers recommending it. It won more awards at The Game Awards show than any other game that year and won everything it was nominated for. It's the 11th highest-rated game on Metacritic, of all time.

I wish N4G would have rules against obvious clickbait articles like this.

Most people without patience aren't even going to spend time trying to do this anyway, so that's a moot point. For those that are patient and committed to getting it done, the rewind feature is a great tool and makes this fairly trivial. Not sure why you feel the need to argue this. If all you want to say is that this is cool then why you even replying to me about the rewind feature at all? Go reply to another comment that's more applicable.

It's a lot if you're not patient. You can do it without as long as you have patience. I only have to rewind twice when I did it. Who said anything about being stuck? I'm replying to a comment mentioning falling off being rage-inducing. It's really not because you can just rewind. 🤷‍♂️

There is a rewind feature in the game. This feat is actually fairly easy to do because of that and was one of the first things I did in the game once coming across the mountain because I thought there would be some sort of in-game "accolade" for it. But yea, the rewind feature doesn't make this very had to do at all. If you mess up, just rewind and try the last part again.

It's out if you bought the Ultimate Edition or the Game Pass Ultimate Edition upgrade. Both of which gave you earlier access.

Why would anyone think they would push Fortnite more in a country where their major playerbase (minors) can only play games for a couple hours a week.

I think you're looking at this the wrong way. It's not meant to trick the kids into thinking they are playing the game. It's just a way for them to be engaged and spark their imagination. It's no different than any other children's toy emulating an adult-version of something. From classic pretend telephone toys, to pretend store checkout stands and tool benches, to Power Wheels. The children know they aren't really driving a car, making wood furniture, or calling someo...

Why is this insane? That's about the same amount that gets taken out for physical copies from manufacturing and retail stores. It's been about 30% removed since long before digital stores were a thing.

And for those thinking it should be less because it's digital, I can tell you that servers and bandwidth to store and distribute large files are not cheap by any means. For a popular title, it probably cost more in bandwidth to distribute the title than it does t...
