And on last-gen hardware, and taken off screen.

Very helpful for an article writing about said video.
@itsmebryan, I never said they blocked stacking. I said they made it clear that if you have Xbox Live Gold cards and redeem them after upgrading to Game Pass Unlimited, that they would convert to a lesser amount of time, which they do. I suspect Sony is looking to implement something similar and that is why this is only temporary. I expect them to come back and say that cards can be redeemed again, but for a lesser amount of time than what they are worth.
It's temporary while they figure out how to make them worth less time than they were bought for, I suspect. Microsoft did the same thing with Xbox Live Gold cards, but at least they were transparent about it from the beginning. They didn't say "Hey...all your time will convert to the highest tier." Then sit there and watch people start stacking and buying cards only to abruptly disallow that.
They haven't even released F1 2022 yet. Let alone added it to Game Pass.
But you can stack. So right now I may have PS+, but that's going to expire within the year. I can get this deal and stack it for $60/yr and then that will also cover all my future PS+ for the same price. Now I'm good for both until 2025 at $60/yr save for this year where I've paid $60/yr for each.
At the end of the day, it's $60 for PS+ essentials to play online multiplayer anyway. So may as well stack up on this and get access to the games for nothing more.
The link in the article goes to a page that says "Not available for purchase." When I click on the link from the Twitter post, it works though. https://twitter.com/Wario64...
That's 2023 of Microsoft's fiscal year. Which starts July 2022. So the deal could very well close sometime this calendar year.
@Lucas
"We all know that's not true. Sony would lose billions from their yearly revenue through lower console sales (although, maybe not immediately) and no 30% cut from mainline COD games post 2023. Please be honest, lads."
Yes, and Activision would no longer receive their cut of the sale anymore either. Which is larger than 30%. So no matter how you slice it, a MS/Acti combination will still be behind Sony when it comes to revenue. The onl...
That's not until April. This update is for February.
@Magog, if regulators always work this way, then were are Sony and Nintendo with their changes? They are investigating all three, but it's only Microsoft that went to the regulators with the changes. Don't act like this is how the regulators work, otherwise all three would be involved with these changes. Microsoft is the one approaching the regulator about this change, not the other way around. Hence VOLUNTARY agreement.
This is a voluntary agreement. The regulator was looking into it to see if something should be done and MS is basically saying, "We agree that more can be done and here is what we're going to do." They have not been forced to do anything by the regulating group. Which is a lot more than others services. Netflix, ISPs, iCloud, cellular service providers, gyms, etc. etc. don't have a cut off. They will just keep taking your money.
Yea seriously. "I have great news...our game studios are making games!" *everyone claps*
Because if you're going to be this late in catching up to other VR headsets, it would have been nice to have something that puts Sony in front of sorts. Easy out-of-the-box wireless connection hasn't really been a thing with VR headsets yet. The Quest is probably the closest, but I think you still have to turn on the feature in the beta settings hidden within the menus of the headset.
@SullysCigar and @mudakoshaka Not sure why you are implying that just because it's wireless that it still wouldn't be powered by the console. No one is asking for it to be a standalone wireless device, we just want it to be a wireless connection to the console. Meaning the console is still powering everything and then sending the image to the headset wirelessly.
That's only if you're adding a pre-paid Live Gold card to an active GPU subscription. If you let your GPU expire, then add the Live Gold time, then resub to GPU, it will convert the time 1:1 as it always has. My friend's expired on Christmas so just went through this process and it's still converting 1:1.
You can still just let your subscription expire, load up on Xbox Live Gold, then resub to GPU and it will convert all your Gold time to GPU. That is going to be the best deal until they stop allowing that to happen.

I've been pretty clear about the order of history, so I'm not sure what you're not understanding. Publishers were looking into it just after WoW came out in 2004. Games for Windows Live didn't come until 2009. MS stopped publishers from all going to a sub per game model.
That's because they changed the article after I called out that the embedded video wasn't working.
