@ Fox3
What about the Wii? You're conveniently leaving out the fact that 10's of millions of casuals that bought the PS2, bought the Wii instead of the PS3. MS still did well this gen, for sure, but their market share gain was not a direct stealing of Sony's market share.
@ n4rc
It overheated because of the conditons I already mentioned, you twit. Absolutely nothing I said was "fanboyish" and I my opinion would be the exact same if this were an article about the Xbox One.
@ n4rc
It' not a problem because consumers who buy the PS4 aren't going to place it into an unventilated plastic tube with stage lights blaring down on it to drive the heat up.
For God's sake, try using some logic...
@ Funatic
So would most women like a huge cellphone? Or how about a 1950 Lincoln Towncar instead of a Porsche?
I think I've made my point. When it comes to tech, smaller is usually the preference.
Sony's fiscal year ends 3/31, so 5 million probably won't be that hard.
Agreed cleft. I was particularly turned off by the story. It didn't seem innovative to me at all...
No Albedo from Xenosaga? Come on man - the guy rips off his own head, crushes it with his foot, and then regrows another - all just to freak you out! If that's not crazy, I don't know what is.
I'm glad to see the inclusion of Mitsuda music on this list. Personally, I think that Xenogears' music is neck-and-neck with the score he wrote for Chrono Trigger. I was bummed that Xeno didn't make the cut, but this was a good list nonetheless.
@ANIALATOR
Crowd: "Boo!!"
Burns: "Are you saying boo or boo-urns?"
Crowd: "BOOOO!!!!!"
Hans Moleman: "I was saying boo-urns."
Classic!!
@ Mystogan
Show me the data to back up your claim. Oh that's right, you made it up.
@ edonus
So you think the most anti-consumer console in gaming history is a good thing and is paving the way for the future? You fanboys have really gone off the deep end with this one.
The fact is, the X1 caters to two primary groups: publishers and MS shareholders. Developers and consumers are the ones who are being told to "deal with it" - and that's not okay.
BTW - if you want to talk about a "stable ecosystem&quo...
@dc
And just how big of a percentage of those record profits are coming from the xbox division? I'll give you a hint - it's not very much. The fact is, many of MS' shareholders think the games division represents a diversion of resources that MS could use toward further developing its real moneymakers. And if these shareholders vote down the games division, guess what happens - it goes bye bye. I'm not trying to downplay what MS has done, but using the com...
@Daedra
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't a few Sony exclusives "win" GOTY? That's what game consoles are supposed to do - produce great games, right? Or is it all about the number consoles sold or market share?
I'll go ahead and clear it up for you by beating a dead horse - gamers play games NOT sales.
It has nothing to do with being fanboys - it has to do with being gamers. Bottom line is this - if you don't recognize the impact Sony has made on gaming and realize what they have given us, then YOU'RE just a jaded, blind fandboy...not everyone else.
...if you never felt the Sony love, I feel sorry for you. I say this as a gamer, not as a fanboy.
Uhh are you feeling okay? ALLWRONG is calling out Sony for releasing casual games, yet mentions nothing about a Kinect-obsessed Microsoft, and you give him praise for "telling it like it is?" Anyone with half of a brain can see who made the shift from hardcore to casual...and it's not Sony.
Well considering that Nintendo's impact on console gaming is about 10 times what MS has ever done...yeah I'd say they are "big boys".
Negative...you forgot about Xenoblade.
I wish I could agree with you multiple times but sadly I can only do it once...so I'll give you bubbles as well
I played Xenoblade, so yes...yes I will remember Wii.
