@ape007, I'm glad you're still finding enjoyment out of Doom 3. I know I am, but I'm just replaying the original game. I too love the level design and honestly think people exaggerate over how dark it was/is. I don't think the laser sight/duct tape flashlight was necessary on BFG Edition either. At least make it optional. I guess since you only played the Xbox version of Doom 3, the BFG edition will somewhat look like an upgrade. But for Christ sake id, why remove co-op? And b...
I think people are over exaggerating, but they have a point.
Now say what you want about the main game, I like Doom 3 (and RoE) and still play it to this day, thanks to a rather large mod community. The Lost Mission was the only genuinely new part of the BFG edition and it seems as though it uses recycled prefabs from past levels. This isn't uncommon per se, most maps reuse things from past levels all the time, but it's as if they didn't even TRY to vary it up. <...
Personally, I'm sick of this zombie phenomenon. It's getting annoying seeing so much of it in movies, TV and videogames.
I'm not saying zombies are a new craze or anything, they've been in every medium since the dawn of time, but the ever growing popularity of the undead is so great that it's quite literally become part of modern culture. I seem to be the only one tired of reading and hearing about them.
Is anyone genuinely looking forward to this?
CD Projekt RED are one of the few awesome companies in the industry at the moment. They appreciate their fans and reward them with FREE DLC and just seem really connected to their audience.
Can't wait for their next ambitious project.
It's not a let down if we all knew it wouldn't be anything remarkable in the first place.

It just seems incredibly pointless going to the trouble of writing a review for a game released over a year ago. Anyone who wants to play it would have already, and if they haven't - they already have a shit ton of reviews they can read.

I'm not dissing or doubting the quality of the review itself, just merely questioning it's relevance.
Isn't that argument a bit silly considering this is a 2008 game with minor improvements? I own Sigma 2 on PS3 and I like it just fine. But I just feel that anyone who wants to play this game would have done so already on either the 360 or PS3 versions of the game.

I appreciate your response. I just fear that the more we see these kind of 'community videos' submitted on this site, the more it will lose it's identity and just become another dump site for peoples videos.
The only reason I object is because it just doesn't feel fitting for this site. This is supposed to be a site for sharing news articles, opinion pieces, screenshots and videos. I understand Let's Play series ARE videos, but so many people do these series now that it's just not worth putting on this site.
Please, I mean no offense to your videos. I myself did Let's Play series (check out my username on YouTube) and before my videos were removed, had close to 80...

Why must a game appeal to EVERYONE? (From the publisher point of view, it's money of course) but remember days when games had a certain audience?
Basically it sounds like they're trying to make everyone happy by including things to appeal to a wider audience. But in reality, what we'll PROBABLY get - is a game that's so mediocre and uninspired on all fronts to make it not worthwhile in the first place.
None of the mods made for Doom 3 work on BFG. id Software have practically rendered years of hard work by their dedicated community useless. Don't waste your bandwidth.
