A launch game that doesn't utilize the consoles full capability?! NO WAY!! Why is everyone so surprised? The PS3 is 7 years or so into it's life cycle and we're still seeing games that push the boundaries ('The Last of Us' for example) Visually speaking anyway.

With so much exposure and information distributed across the internet, what may have worked back then, won't fly nowadays.

Where are your sources to confirm that? Sure SOME demos alter the games levels in order to show off more environments and so you don't automatically know what to do in the final game (F.E.A.R/Condemned demos do this)no doubt they made SOME changes, but you can't deny - in all the footage we've seen, it looks pretty damn watered down and well...generic is the only word I can think of. What a failure of a review.
What does overrated mean anyway? Is it talked about too much? Perhaps. But people have to remember, this game was incredibly successful, came out at just the right time, and introduced JRPG's to millions of people worldwide, greatly helped the sales of an entire console platform, as well as being a damn fine game in it's right. Why not? It's practically mandatory to have multiplayer in every fucking game nowadays.
I like CDPR and I like the products they've released. I don't particularly give a shiny shite about multiplayer, but this won't turn me off their game.
