These were voted on long before the online hit don't kid yourself. The gameplay of RDR2 is what cost it this award. It still controls like a game from a decade ago which doesn't hold up anymore. A huge detailed world doesn't win you GOTY awards.
They actually got it right for once. God of War should've taken best performance as well but It won the more important awards.

The game had a low budget and the developer said they would be happy if it did 100k. For many other games that would be abysmal. For this one it's not at all. Maybe learn how things work.
This doesn't mean you won't get a sequel at all. First off these are UK numbers which most of the time aren't that big a piece of the pie. Remember even a game like RDR2 didn't sell a ton of copies in the UK at launch compared to the rest of the world. Yes but everything pretty much in the PS+ lineup scored better than the GWG lineup. Sure you can play everything on your Xbox One but if they aren't great games who cares.
@Neonridr I didn't say the best month. I said one of the best overall months. That means the entire lineup. Usually the PS4 lineup is pretty great but the PS3 or Vita lineup is lacking or full of some mediocre games. I'm talking games that have a Metacritic rating in the 40 to 50 range. This is one of the best overall PS+ lineups we've seen. All of these games reviewed well. SOMA has one of the best stories in games and Onrush can be fun as well. If you like Visual novels SteinsGate is one of the best and the Vita lineup is great too for once with both Papers, Please and Iconoclasts. Way to end 2018 with a bang Sony.
There is nothing mediocre about it. 4 out of the 6 titles have a metacritic rating in the 80's. The other two are in the high 7's. It's actually one of the best overall lineups PS+ has ever had.

Oh look another person talking out of their butt because they don't know how to read an article. PC sales weren't factored into this genius. If they were COD's sales would've been far higher. It's really quite sad how many of you don't realize how much of a juggernaut COD is. Not even a Rockstar game with years and years of hype could knock an annual franchise off.

Did none of you read the actual article or do you just enjoy stating wrong facts? PC sales were not factored into COD's sales. If they were it would've beaten RDR2 even worse. Read the article for crying out loud.

RDR2 only won best story and some best audio awards. None of those signal that you were the best game. God of War won the important ones like Best Game Direction (This is key) and Best Action Adventure.
