I agree but it does away with wires in front of the PS3 and thats a huge plus for me.

I might buy one.

It is his opinion.
It is not fact.

@ V2oom
Thats because they are all on n4g.com bashing the PS3 day in and day out.
Silly fanboys.

@ MK_Red
You said:
"First they defend BC so much and then totally remove it."

They haven't totally removed it.
Its still there in the 60 and 80GB models.

Basically they are saying you have the option of buying a 40GB without BC for less than a 60 or 80GB with BC.

See its not totally gone.
Choices....... don't ya love em?!

European HD DVD Promotional group, that is.

@ cuco33
I work with two other people that own a PS3 and none of us own a standalone Blu-ray. Between the three of us we have 14 Blu-ray movies.
(One of those guys has a 360 with an add on and he has a few HD-DVD movies too)

We all plan on getting more.

I'm just going by what I see in the real world because numbers on the net can be twisted.

@ cdzie1
So in other words........
20% x 3,000,000 +/- (or however many PS3's are out there now) =
600,000 +/- people have used their PS3 to play movies.

Sounds to me like thats quite a high number.

9% lead?
Not much of a lead really.
I would think they would want to keep quiet with it being that close.

Edit:
@ sak500
I'm just amazed they are calling this good news.
9%?
And not even including PS3's in the mix?
(I will be buying a 40 GB PS3 as a movie player for my living room soon because of the $400 price tag. I bet I'm not the only one)
I see no good news here for the HD-DVD camp.

$300,000,000+
WOW!

How much did it cost to make? Anyone know?

Edit:
Never mind I found out.

http://www.newsday.com/tech...
The total cost to Microsoft for "Halo 3": a little more than $60 million. Development costs will probably be just above $30 million, given an elite team of 300 full-time artists and programmers working fo...

Lets see.........
Halo 3 only on 360.
GTA4 on 360 and PS3.

Well duh!
Do these guys get paid to come up with this?

Who are you and what did you do with TheMart?

6750d ago 5 agree1 disagreeView comment

@ kurochi
So buy the 60 GB (while its still available) or the 80 GB.
That takes care of the problem.

Fans of 360 have been talking about how great having choices is, well now PS3 fans have a choice.

6750d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

Quoting Advanced Arcade-
"Sony now cuts out BC all together."

You can still get the 60 and 80 GB if you want BC so its not "cut out all together"

Just consider it Sony giving people options. lol

Old article (05/12/2006) but .....
No problem.
Buy the 60 or 80 GB.
It's as easy as that.

6753d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Every game made for the PS3 will be playable on all PS3's sold right out of the box. No extra purchase required.
20 GB = All PS3 games playable
40 GB = All PS3 games playable
60 GB = All PS3 games playable
80 GB = All PS3 games playable

Not every game made for the 360 is playable on every 360 sold out of the box. Some games will require an HDD (Sold separately only by M$) to be able to play them.
