One of these two formats will win and that format will last at least 10 years.
And the reason I believe this is because not everyone is hooked up to the internet, much less high speed internet access which is needed for downloads.
Here is the very important point I want to make.
There is a huge chunk of the population that will wait to adopt the new format, whatever one that ends up winning, simply because they cant afford it just yet. I am talkin...

To anyone that says WaitStation 3 or any of the other BS you guys say, please remember that it took 360 a while (almost a year) to come out with great games. (yes it has some great games now) not to mention they rushed the 360 to market without testing it first. (thus the new 3 year warranty)
I would never say anything as stupid as the "360 is dead" crap because I know it isn't...

I agree with everything you said except the fact that UMD (Universal Media Disc) failed.
UMD was never intended to take over any other format therefore it can’t be a failure.
It was first and foremost a media used to store game data for the PSP. The whole “movie thing” is more of an after thought on Sony’s part. It may have lost a lot of support but I don’t really believe Sony was banking on that format to really go anywhere. They talked it ...

You have to take into account the fact that it was made in 1977.
It came out the same year as Star Wars so the whole extra terrestrial, out out of this world thing was huge at the time.
