@DLC, fair enough, its easy to get off topic here. OT, I could only imagine the burden Minecraft could have become, especially for someone like Notch who hates the spotlight. I'm the same way, and truth be told I would have removed myself from the situation as well. Best wishes to him.
@DLC, I'm not judging Notch specifically, but rather MS. Why? Because to them this acquisition its just another Notch in their belt. Its nothing more than a bullet point to them. I just hate to see great companies swallowed up by the corporate machine, then lose any identity that once made them shine. I'll hope for the best, but I really do expect the worse.
True but consider this. If you have a classic car, say a 1969 GTO Judge, and it comes time to sell it. Some rich kid comes along, all the money in the world, spoiled and doesn't appreciate what he has offers you an insane amount of cash. Then comes along another person, not rich, but has saved up for years, appreciates what he's earned and takes care of what he has. He offers you considerably less, but still more than market value. Who would you rather your baby go to?
Sorry man its crap. For how much it was hyped and then to finally play the game as a child was a huge disappointment. There were other crap games, but they didn't hype themselves like ET.

You're right medman. Some people are idiots, or they just want to stir up flamewars. Gamers don't follow resolution, they follow a certain platform they choose to game on (ie consoles, PC, smartphones), then within that platform they choose the one that fits their needs the best. You're not going to convert a console gamer to an smartphone gamer just because of higher resolution. You won't convert console gamers to PC for the same reason.
Better question is why you would think you need one in the first place? Sony designed the PS4 to work without overheating, you're not going to overheat it unless you're playing in extreme ambient temperatures, in which case this still won't work. It's a waste of cash, that's better spent on games.
That's very true, but LOTR and the Hobbit are based on books that had heart and soul so it's easier to get an idea of the characters, especially when the books are so good. A lot of video game characters on the other hand are 1 dimensional and sometimes not even that. So the basis to start is already a flawed one.
I don't know why devs give people like PETA any attention. Do they really think PETA can do anything or that PETA its their target audience anyway? So you're not forced to kill animals, but killing people is ok? I hate when politics gets in the way of video games.

What they did was stand on the sideline while they let MS use a vaguely worded statement about TR exclusivity, and then carry on the illusion by not saying anything.

There's a market for everything. Question is, is it worth it to invest time and money into a device with a small market? If MS put Kinect games on hold that means no games for a couple years as it usually takes that long to make a game. I don't think 3rd parties will be making games outside of Dance Central and the like. I also don't think 3rd party devs will be wanting to implement Kinect features either.

No the casuals flocked to tablets and smartphones for their gaming needs. They left Nintendo way before the PS4 was even announced. The higher PS4 sales you see is from a lot of Xbox defectors.
Agreed. There are many terminally ill people that die everyday who are much more deserving of the attention Williams is getting. How about honoring people who have the courage to fight to the end and not take the easy way out?
Instead we give attention to these Hollywood stars that gave up on life. Just because they came on TV doesn't make them any more important than others.
