What production values? The Engine for the game was fantastic and the writer says so. What he's slamming is the rest of it: story / gameplay / ect.
PC gamers like to date pretty girls (games) but they want to date pretty girls with some depth or at least something more than always talking about how pretty she is.

Crysis was a trash game with a pretty outside. It was bad. He's right; you did basiaclly play the entire game with a silenced, scoped assualt rifle. The story was shallow and crude. The Aliends did make the entire game suck.
Go on. Play Crysis again and tell me it's the shit. PC gamers of PC Gamers knew it was a bad game from day -100.

They are aware that this is actually the 5th DS redesign (DS, DSL, DSi, DSi XL) and that 3/4 DS makes are still on the market? It's great they've made a good DS, although it has a huge gimmick to it, but it's got to compete with cheaper alternatives to itself and a 3-way split DS market.
I disagree. QT knows it's a bad game, so is rolling with it's B movie quality.
Gears thinks its teh sheeeeeeit, and tries to be TEH EPIC at all times. And quite frankly, it suffers from that.

I can't exactly agree with the DirectX to OpenGL complaint. If memory serves me correctly, Quake and Half-Life were made into OpenGL and looked way better than DirectX.
And it just seems like Valve rushed this and Mac programming has been a last thought rather than anything else.
It's Valve, and as much as I think they're lazy for making very few games between HL2:EP2 and Team Fortress 2, they can do much better than this.

Well... to be honest, if you didn't play the game without the DLC/expansion stuff, the ending was not enjoyable. The fact that the game just up and ends at that point instead of letting you play on really made fans of Fallout 1&2 mad.
You basically spend 30-50 hours playing a character for the game to just end on you, unlike Oblivion where you can keep going.
I bet really what happened was about 9000 Mac users downloaded the game over and over since they thought it was broken or had to get it again when they died.
Good to hear some of them are finally getting out of the first room.
All 5 points in this list contradict the things that made Demon's Souls great. It didn't need a heavy back story, it doesn't need scaling difficulty, the lack of music improved the atmosphere of the game.
If you're going to nag on them about changing something in the game, nag on them about the online aspects. You should be able to hook up with your friends, but the game doesn't need an overhaul.
