2019 looks like it'll definitely topple 2017 if the games manage to release in 2019. Animal Crossing, Luigi's Mansion, Fire Emblem, Bayinetta, Town, Yoshi, Daemon X Machina and (maybe) Metroid.
Huge amount of variety there so can't wait and that's not including the stronger 3rd party support they're on track to get.

No. What we're trying to say is that when any of the big 3 makes it to the top they slowly become more dictatorial in their policies. When Nintendo was at the top decades ago they had a very tyrannical approach to third parties. Sony comes along with very lax policies; Nintendo loses their dominance and is forced to change.
Until Sony reverses their stance. Or at the very least we support the games on another platform that doesn't have the same policies.

I will say I think some of this outrage is manufactured. The statement itself is absolutely retarded but the twitter accounts complaining are kinda inactive and have all decided to start talking about this controversy. Say what you want about Russian bots but this feels like its someone trying to manufacture a controversy.
Everything before this was largely legitimate outrage but this doesn't feel like it is.
The problem is more to do with the idea of a Roman soldier. They weren't formidable duelists but incredible formation fighters which was still a relatively new theory. Problem with Ryse is that they took your typical Roman equipment and found "oh yeah this doesn't really work outside of a formation". Like why are the shields so small? Why is he slashing so much with his blade? It was everything the Romans weren't.

That is really what the trade-off should be. If you have MT's then all post launch content should be free (e.g map packs). It means a few whales can basically fund the post launch content and everyone gets it for free.
Also, everyone was saying MS needs to expand their 1st party studio portfolio since it's become clear they couldn't guarantee consistent releases throughout a generation. All of a sudden they do that and it's still doom and gloom. Heres hoping...
